2019 Toulon Putter Thread

Awwww yeah look what showed up today! The final piece of my #TheGrandaddy puzzle.

The finish on this thing is so nice, and I'm absolutely loving the new Austin head shape!

I wasn't aware that I was getting a Garage putter, but sight dot was an important part of my fitting so I guess the Toulons took care of me.
I think stock is a flange line.

Love it man! So sick!

Do you have a Toulon coming too? I don’t think I knew that. Awesome

I don’t but I’m still jealous

I really wish the Garage would have opened the same time as this release.

I know what you mean, but it pretty much has been that way from the start. The Garage would open a month or so after the release of the new models. I for one cannot wait until we see all those options!

Thinking about trying an Atlanta. I like the new full face milling a lot but not for double the price of a nice used one.

I think the Stroke Lab weighting is more likely to justify the purchase than the milling. The full face milling is a nice aesthetic but unless you are striking the ball terribly theres no performance gain there IMO.

Army that Austin is beautiful congrats. I saw what appears to be your old one up for sale on the bay. I like your tastes in minimal alignment aides and dark finishes. I hope us regular folk can order an Austin like yours.

Thanks!
Yeah, the old one will be missed but I just cant see myself going back to it at this point. I cant put my finger on how exactly the Stroke Lab weighting helps my putting, but the stats say that it does.

So which one do you like better...the Austin or the SL One?

My heart likes the Austin more hands down but the One isnt leaving the bag until it falters, because since adding it my putting has been so good (by my standards).

Yea man it is so nice to have options but you got to stick with the Hot Hand! That is why I love having multiple putters...I truly believe in the "next man up" approach to putting when the first one isn't doing the job. I mean DJ does this every week and I guess he is pretty good at golf :alien:

For sure. I cycle through 3 or 4 putters that are all the same neck and toe hang and just ride the hot stick whenever it shows up.

That is a heck of a compliment to the ONE considering how incredible the roll on a Toulon is, and how good it sounds.

I’m with you on this. The full face milling is kinda a “meh” to me. I never gave it a second thought before because I alsways expected to strike the ball in the middle of the face.

Putters should start arriving fairly soon for the guys on the team not named ArmyGolf. What does everyone have coming?

Me: Memphis

I have a SL Vegas coming and can't wait!!!

What makes a Toulon better than the standard Odyssey or the seeming more refined EXO or Stroke Lab? The look of the Toulon putters is fantastic and far more appealing than the others. But is there a significant performance difference that justifies the price?

The Portland and Memphis models particularly have me dreaming of being a great putter. I've rolled both of them and like them both.

I'm looking at getting a new putter (one made in this millenium) and appreciate any feedback y'all can provide.

No joke buddy - if you told me that I would not only be gaming an insert putter, but loving it, and rolling the heck out of it I'd have laughed at you.

Sure the Stroke Lab One isnt as cool my Austin, or as drop dead gorgeous as my Lambs but it just plain rolls the ball into the hole for me.

The guys who are really putter connoisseurs can speak to this more than me. I I love the feel and look of my Memphis, and I know that I make more putts with it. But to your question, I think part of the answer is the deep diamond milling and how it puts a quick topspin roll on the ball.

I have this piece of putter porn on the way.

I would go flow neck for sure, but man picking the actual putter would be a nightmare for me. The Atlanta, Portland, Memphis, Vegas, and palm beach all look like fantastic options. The H4 Memphis, Portland, or Atlanta would probably be top of the list though.

Portland, 35" everything standard. I very definitely prefer a milled face putter so this can't get here soon enough.

I prefer the full face milling as I hit a lot of putts out near the toe to deaden the roll on downhill putts.

Tour proven Atlanta for me. Can’t wait to get it in hand but I think it’s going to have a tough time unseating the SL Marxman.
