Your wedge setup: why?

43 PW
48 AW
54 SW
56 LW

Duff the LW too much on short shots around the green, so lately been playing the sand wedge that comes with my set and that has made a huge different in my short game around the greens. The last round I played I did not duff or hit those nasty angled shots that shoot off to the right. Might play the 54 a lot more now. I think the sole on my LW is a bit too rounded is why I duff it sometimes.

46 PW
50 GW
56 SW
60 LW

The gapping between the GW and the SW is annoying, but I can't give up on the GW. It's a Cleveland Smart Sole that plays like a cheat code off of bad lies.

I could probably get by with 2 wedges, but scrambling and short game play is my favorite part of golf and I'm not going to short myself on toys there. For comparison, I don't even bag a FW, but I carry 4 wedges.

45, 50 and 56. Works for me.

It's working great. My wedge game is better than it's ever been since i simplified and went to just 2 wedges. Definitely a strength of my game.

I've been going with two wedges a lot as well, but simplification wasn't the inspiration.

Whether I observe the fourteen club rule,
or stretch it out to the 15-club cart bag capacity,
my bag is top heavy with long clubs
and this leaves spacious gaps down at the scoring club end of the bag..

If the set were configured for versatility and all around use,
it wouldn't be overlapping long irons and lofted woods.
[ In a way, I envy hybrid players who use the same club as either a long iron or a lofted wood; but I don't like them much. ]

Instead, the set is optimized for my home course.
Several of those long clubs are included for use on one specific hole.
Using that crutch to my advantage requires working around rather large gaps between my 42º 9-iron and the two wedges.

If I'm invited to play at a friend's club, however, then the usual set won't fly. I have a few extra clubs to swap out, and my wedge complement changes.
Of course, then I must from time to time hit a less familiar club, particularly if it's a wedge, and the way it works out, I've basically outsmarted myself.

No matter. In my mind, I'm doing the right thing!

716 AP1 has PW at 43. So I went: 48, 54, 60.

Set PW 45*
GW 50* bent to 49*
SW 54*
LW 58*

Selected those lofts in those particular wedges because the gapping works out well (no more than 12 yard gap) on full swing shots as a continuation of my iron set.

At the bottom end I'm currently 46° set AW, 54° Jaws MD5, 58° PM Grind. I'm comfortable with partial swings with the AW, only occasionally full swing the 54, and very rarely full swing the 58 - it's pretty much exclusively a greenside club. I'm considering going to a 52° Mack Daddy CB and trying a 58° Jaws Full Toe. It would give me uniform 6 degree gaps instead of my current 8 degree and 4 degree gaps.

Current setup is 47° PW, 51° GW, 55° SW, and 59° LW. They’re all bent 1° weak to remove offset and add a little bounce. Very consistent gapping within the wedges but a touch more of a gap between my 9 and PW than I would like. Curious to try a 46/51/56/61 wedge setup if I can get a better gap between my 9 and PW to help add a little higher loft in my highest wedge for around the green on touchy shots

I go set PW (44), set GW (48), then specialist wedges (54 bent to 53) and a 58. I changed to 5 degree gaps between the last two spots (used to have specialist wedges 52, 56, 60) for two reasons, firstly it allowed me to get the top end of my bag how i wanted it with the modern lofts, secondly because i felt like i had too many options of club in the wedge yardages. I‘ve learnt to be more creative with the 53, and it works for me.

I went with a 52, 56, 60 set of wedges. I might be a few yards offset from where I want to be. I have a feeling I’m at 112 instead of the 115 I used to hit with my 52. I play for a 10 yard gap with each wedge and it’s been real world acceptable. I want a wedge fitting so I can tighten things up without guessing.

I go Pw, Gw, 54, 58.

54 is my go to wedge. GW is usually around 50 and Pw is whatever it is. I rarely use the 58

My PW is a 44*.
I own a 50, 56, and 60 but lately I have pulled the 60.
However, I'm thinking of going 44, 48, 54/56. I'm liking the 2 wedge set up.

44.5*/49.5*/56*/60*/64*

if I play the ball back in my stance I see: 115/100/85/75/60

if I play the ball in the middle of my stance I see:
105/90/70/60/45 yds

I vary the ball position based on the particular shot.
PW and UW are set wedges.
56 and 60 are cbX2 Full face
64* is a Sure Out

for bunker play I use the 64* or 56* opened up.
for flops I use the 60* opened up.

use them all for chipping. But mostly the 56* or 60*.

48* 52* 56* - for no other reason of matching even gaps. Now whether I hit them at the proper gapping yardage wise is another story. I only use the 56* for sand & flop shots. The 48* I tend to use full or 3/4 wedges from about 110 - 115 yards. The 52* is my favorite all purpose wedge. It's used a lot for pitches & chips & full swing from 110 - 100. I know I shouldn't be "married" to one wedge for chipping & pitching but I'm the most comfortable with it. (y)

46* PW 125
50* 115
55* 105
59* 95

I go 54 - 58 - 62.

My weakness is my iron game, so I am chipping a lot. I use the 54 for both full shots and all kinds of short game shots around the green. The 58 is virtually a sand wedge only. And the 62 is very limited to getting over a green side bunker or when I just need to go straight up and down. I play a lot of small greens so not much green to work with on my chips usually.

Set PW - 140 or less
Set AW - 127 or less
56 MD5 S-grind - anything 115 or closer
60 PM Grind - anything short sided or out of rough around the green

I go 50, 54, 58.

I was 50, 56, 60 but never actually used the 60 for anything at all because I was better with the 56. I tried a 58 and had an 'everything clicked' moment with it, so I put it in the bag. Then my 56 and 58 were too close, so when it was time to buy wedges again I went with a 54 to get a little bit more even yardage gaps. I think all of mine are 8* bounce.

46 PW and then 50/54/58. The even 4 degree gaps give me about 12 yard gaps. I could easily drop a wedge and just go 50/56.

I'm completely easy and consistent. I use 50, 54 bent to 55 and 60. The gapping works perfectly for me, and I have all the partials covered off from about 110 down to 40. I will take a lot of convincing that this set up is not the ideal one for my game....

My PW is 44 and then my wedges go 48,52 & 56. I will normally only hit full shots with the 48, the 52 can be full shots and in between shots and the 56 is for round the green and from 40yds and in.

I only carry a 60 degree lob Wedge, 52 Gap Wedge and Pitching Wedge. Around the greens, greenside bunker and within 75 yards, my lob wedge is enough. Ill use my 52 degree gap Wedge for 75 yards to 115 yards. While 115 -140 yards Ill use my Pitching Wedge.....I am probably the only one among my friends that dont carry a 56...

I carry a 50/54/58. Been doing these lofts because of the Apex irons PW is a lower loft so gapping seems to work better for me. As far as grinds and such I’ve always done the same. However when I bought my Vokey SM8s I used their wedge build guide and bought based off of that. So far I’m happy with the selection. And not what I would have picked either. The site was easy to navigate and would recommend for someone not sure about even which lofts or grinds. It actually picked the same lofts I currently use. D4D4B099-AED1-467C-B861-2EE787118508.png

Basically check the lofts and gaps and figure out what works best. I also like having a 58 as my highest since I don't like full swinging a 60 degree. 50, 54, 58 is in my bag and has been working well.
