I chunked an approach shot today and the head snapped off of my 9 iron. these are cast clubs and last fall I had my lie angles adjusted I think that weakened the hosel and this bad chunk shot was enough to cause it to let go. For the fun of it I decided to try and fix it here's the results.

I still need to polish it back to its original shine but over all it came out pretty good!

Looking good man. Looks like you used the TIG for this?

I can't TIG weld to save my life. But it looks pretty damn good, considering.

Thank you! Yes I did use the tig, not the greatest weld but it should hold.

Thanks! I know there really is no point to doing this considering I can get a new head for $10 I did it just for fun and to see if it would work.

Not all welds have to look pretty just need to hold well. After the grind and follow up with a good polishing I'm sure no one will be able to tell. Post a pic after your done.

Wow great job!! I think just leave it as it is and don't re-finishing it.

That's true I'd rather have strong than pretty! I'll get it all polished up this week and post pics.
