Greetings

I've read through all I can find on these two clubs, individually and folks experiences. I was wondering if anybody can comment on hitting these side-by-side....

I'm in the PX 5.5 in the Mizuno's. Nobody around me has the ap1's, so we'll see if I get to hit those soon. I'm leaning EZ Forged just because I got to hit those a bunch in front of my swing coach and he liked the trajectory....

Thoughts?

I have hit both with the 5.5's and didn't see anything wrong with the flight of either. Sorry but I don't remember the numbers from the monitor. I currently hit the MP53's with the 5.5's as well. I did hit the AP1's better, but it was a mental thing with the EZ's. They didn't look good for me at address. I know this is a bit cliché, get fit and see which is best for you.

no, not cliche' at all. I've been fit at my local club, but that is with a mizuno cart and my coach watching - no monitors. It will take some effort to go out and find the ap1's to hit. I'm currently in 15 year old Tour Edge w/ original grips, so, in reality, anything is a huge upgrade :)

Thanks for your feedback.

I was looking for some new irons and had tried the EZs, I'd almost convinced my self that it would be the EZ forged I went for.
I went back to the range for a final hit and the fitter asked me if I wanted to hit anyting else in comparison so I asked him what Titleist had, he gave me the AP1 to hit.
I really wanted the EZ forged to be the best but after hitting the AP1 I knew it had to be Titleist. More consistant and longer.

I got the opposite. I hit the EZ quite well, but then again I like the ap1 aswell even though the ap1 was a fitting club set up completely opposite to what I'm used to (I'm 1.5 up standard length, and it was 2 flat). Anywhoooo I give the nod to the EZ, the feel just worked for me. Even though I'm not good with game improvement levels of offset. No flight numbers as I hit them at Golfsmith into the net. Bottom line is I would just try to give them a swing yourself if you can and then decide. Two good choices either way.

I was fit for my MP53's with the Mizuno cart as well. In about a week I have an appointment with the Titleist fitting center here in Seoul and will see how the AP line and my Mizzies compare. Maybe a late Christmas present or even a new Scotty would work.

Having reviewed the EZ Forged, they'll have a slightly smaller footprint but you'll like the flight of the AP1's and the distance of them much more IMO. To me it's not all that close.

Thank you for your detailed review thread. It was very helpful. Here's to hoping I can hit the ap1's soon and make a purchase.

A forum member offered me some 712's with s300, but I haven't had new clubs in 15 years...I think I"ll make he jump and then, if I want to make a switch, focus on used clubs. I'll probably pick up wedges used; though, if I go AP1's, I've got to figure out that double gap wedge thing...weirdness.

do you think the flight and distance are just related to the lofting? Titleist appears to have gone the way of most GI irons..2 gap wedges? Wha??

Actually I believe in the longer irons the Mizunos are lofted more strongly. Then they sort of even out in the shorter irons

Ok, got to hit both of these today at a golf shop on a monitor. Pretty interesting.

I hit:

AP1 with s300 Dynalite (guy said the head didn't fit the px shaft (?)
AP2 with PX 5.5
EZ Forged in PX 5.5

Thoughts: Disperson was best with AP1. Feel was, of course, best with AP2, but worst dispersion, as expected. I like the looks of the AP1 color scheme better, but not significantly more. I realized today that I really like more feel. When I hit the AP2 well, man, that felt great. I felt like the AP1 was more 'dead' or just didn't provide enough feedback, at least compared to the EZ forged. I've had a left pull going in my swing for a bit lately, so not sure how much of the #'s is my swing flaw(s) or the clubhead/shaft combo. How meaningful is it that the "offline" numbers are so much better with the ap1 w/ a s300 dynalite shaft vs. the px 5.5 in the other 2? We he deleted the big mishits of each club - should he not have done that? Should I have hit a bunch more of each combo?

So, at this point, I may hit the 825 Pro's for giggles in order to contemplate a combo set, but, short of that, I'm thinking EZ forged. Yes, I'm not wild about the monicker "EZ" and aren't a huge fan of the color scheme, but I don't hate either and they appear to be the right head for me...

Some #'s...I don't totally understand these, so feedback welcome
