These are rusted up Callaway Proto MB, 3-pw heads. 2 are already taking a coke bath before I decided to take some before pics. I will take a few tomorrow when I remove.

These will replace my Callaway Black Legacy heads. Not too happy with them.

The plan is to "plum brown" them using birchwood casey like I did my Scotty.

Nice, they're going to look really good with the birchwood plum brown on them, one of my favorites, used to use it on putter refinishes a lot.

Thanks. Here's how my Scotty turned out.

Very nice, I did several old putters in it, just a really really nice look to my eye.

Irons should look nice after the re-finishing. Seeing the putter gives me an idea for a putter I have been eyeing...

Are these the raw finish Callaway Tour Issue heads or did they have the chrome finish before you started?

Those will be very nice after some love

Thanks. My legacy heads may be on the chopping block if these go well

After a CLR bath and some elbow grease (with Bar Keepers Friend)

Making some great progress. Looking forward to seeing the end result!

Looking good dude, can't wait to see that finish applied!

Where did you get these from originally? A set you have had stored away for ages? Something you just picked up?

The progress so far looks great. Cannot wait to see the finished product!

Decided to do the 3, 4, and 5 iron today. From doing my Scotty, I new it would take approximately 6 coats to get the shade I want. I would heat, apply a coat, wait 5-10 minutes, rinse with water, then repeat. After the last coat I applied baby oil to get rid of the chalkiness. It's a little shiny right now. After the oil soaks in the finish will be where I want it. Here are some pics. I still have to add paintfill.

I decided to do some paintfill this morning.i got the paint at Michaels. I will use mostly white paint, with the "Callaway" text in black.

Looking great so far, I can't wait to see the final look.

Looking good. Really looking. Forward to the finished project. Nice job!

Those look sweet!

Wow looking really good dude! Well done.

Those are looking rather impressive. Look forward to seeing the finished results.

The paintfill didn't stick. The baby oil was the culprit. I tried prepping the surface more with acetone, so we'll see

Just bought some True Temper XP105 shafts to go into these. Reg flex. I've never played this shaft before, but too good a deal to pass up.

The set is 6-pw, aw, sw that i plan to hardstep into my 5-aw. The seller said the 6 iron raw length is 37.75", so should be no problem.

Awesome project. Did you find those heads on eBay?

Could you share some detail on what the finish is and where to find it. The finished color looks awesome.

Did you strip the chrome or were these raw?
