Playing Desert Springs in AZ.

Just finished hole 4.

Currently at -3. Birdies on 1, 2 and 4.

Hole 5 is 376 yard par 4.

Pushed drive right into the rocks. Hit a good PW to 40 feet. 2 putt for par.

-3 through 5.

Hole 6 is a 173 yard par 3.

Well. There went my attempt at the course record. Topped a 9 iron into the lake. Second attempt to 30 feet and 2 putt for double bogey.

-1 through 6.

Hole 7 is. 474 yard par 5.

Hit another push into the right rock area. Had to punch into the fairway. Hit a 7 iron from 180 yards to 40 feet pin high. 2 putt for par.

Hole 8 is a 355 yard par 4.

Pushed the drive a bit right to 86 yards. Hit a 58* to 15 feet and made the birdie putt.

-2 through 8.

Hole 9 is a 351 yard dogleg par 4.

Yeah, there's a few gems on the west side of Phoenix. This course goes private in season so I try to take advantage.

Not bad for 18.00 with a cart.

Hit a bit of an apprehensive drive to 97 yards. Hit 58* about 15 feet past the hole. First putt misses by 2 inches. Making the turn at -2.

Hole 10, refreshing titled "Fresh Start" is a 377 yard par 4. A drive too well struck to the left finds water that is hard to see from the box.

A poorly struck 4 iron off the tee left me 167 in the right rough. An 8 iron to the front second cut leads to a chip to 18" and a 1 putt.

-2 through 11.

Hole 12 is a 524 yard dogleg left par 5. The green is a peninsula with bunkers protecting it from all sides. Your tempted to go at it in 2 but it's a 3 shot hole, especially into a light breeze like today.

Nice draw off the tee into the wind left me 274. Hit a 7 iron to layup and left me 106. 54* pulled into the sand. Blast to 3 feet and made the putt.

Hole 12 is a 347 yard par 4.

Driver keeps pushing right. Ugh. Good news is the desert carried it pin high. My new average off the tee is 347.

2 bunker shots later and bogey.

Hole 13 is a short par 4, only 338. Here comes the 4 iron.
