What golf lies do you tell yourself? I consider lie here loosely, i.e., something you tell yourself but perhaps down deep fear might not be true.

Examples
I am just about to take a step and become a scratch golfer
I really do need that X-flex shaft
I can be a great putter with a blade

I can put an entire round together without a blow up hole.:ROFLMAO:

That driving iron will be perfect for shots off the deck.....

I can still hit that 3 wood 260 and stop it on the green over that pond......

That I can hit any shot shape. :banghead:

I'm better than that.

for a long time i knew couldn't hit a hybrid

I'm with this.

Also, I told myself the other night I had solved my left driver miss.

I didn't. Temporary statistical anomaly, and I knew.

I'm a single-digit handicapper.

I should have gotten up and down from back there...

I can play a draw or fade on command

That I will beat Par someday before I keel over.
That these new shafts are the ones that will help me beat Par.
Being 61 has nothing to do with the game sliding.

I play better when I walk ...............

That this next shot will go as planned

The same one that I tell myself on each shot, "Come on, you can do this". Once in awhile I actually surprise myself and do it.

I don't need fairway woods..... my 2 iron can handle it.

Then after many years, my 62 year old brain finally overrode my ego. I added a 20 degree hybrid and a Cleveland strong 5 wood yesterday.

Stay young my friends.

“I think I should wait. Just incase I might hit one solid down the middle 270yds”

“ I should play blue tee”

I can consistently hit my fairway woods. Yeah, that would be a lie :ROFLMAO:

"I would've made that putt if I weren't distracted by the grounds crew on the next fairway."

I should probably just punch this out of trouble onto the fairway, or I could hit a big low draw around those trees..."
