66-Year old beginner needs advice on buying new irons

Welcome to THP! Seems like you have a very good thought process, some lessons, and from there your coach should be able to make some good recommendations. If I were to start over, and I only started playing 2 years ago, that is how I would do it, get off on the right foot to begin.
