I swapped out a shaft recently. i never noticed during playing but now that the shaft is free of the head, i see that the shaft is bent at the point where the ferrule sits. i not talking a serious bend but a change in linear direction for sure. could that be intentional when the owner before me altered the loft or something that has just happened? it is bent as if the loft was decreased or my divot taking has done some damage. do you straighten that out or throw it away? i guess i should check the others at some point. Thanks

I would toss it and put in a new shaft. I don't think it was intentional. When altering loft and lie on irons the shaft itself should not be bent. There's so many ways it could have been bent. In the trunk, maybe the bag fell, I've even seen a golf ball hit a bag and dent a steel shaft. Chances are it's that one club but I'd inspect the rest just in case. A kink in the steel shaft can cause failure and you may lose a club head or worse.

I'd trash it and replace it new.
