Bryson DeChambeau Thread

was just coming here to discuss this..
Seems like the company is rather new. First post on their Instagram account is from Oct 2023

They seem like a company that would fit him. Focus on one length..

According to my friend who is friends with Tom Bailey, Bailey is behind Avoda. He trains with Mike Schy who was a coach of Bryson’s at one point (maybe still). We all grew up in the Fresno area. Not sure about Bailey.

That was fun to watch. He plays six holes with a junior golf set. Guess it is the “Indian, not the arrow”

Is it weird I used to despise Bryson, but my feelings are not a harsh now.

No. Seems like a lot of folks are feeling that same way.

That was a really fun video. Pretty amazing the distance control he had with junior clubs he'd never hit before, with shafts like spaghetti noodles.

His social media stuff is entertaining, and I still say he strikes me as a guy I'd really enjoy playing a round of golf with.

Yea I was not a Bryson fan as much before, but I feel like his YouTube channel has actually gave his ego a bit of humility for me. I've really enjoyed his content, and he has been incredibly smart with it by growing close to the biggest content creators out there. He does really well with the Grant's and Garrett's of the world. He in my opinion is the player from LIV who has really figured out how to use that to grow his persona.

He feeds off of the energy, the crowd feeds off of him, I'm just at a spot where I think he is genuinely great for the game at this point.

Apparently there was a deal somewhere where if a guy got a certain number of likes plus one from Bryson, he could get new clubs. I think my wife said tik tok

Pretty funny.

And Bryson is going to fly him out for a lesson

A very telling excerpt from Bryson's press conference before Nashville. A voice of maturity and introspection.

Wow. Gotta be more to this story.

Has to be more and that is pretty shiity for the tournament directors to put out on social media. You want to know a sure fire way to not get funding, blast Bryson on social media in hopes of shaming him or some sort blackmail.

Completely a statement trying to attack him and make themselves look like the good guy.

Wow. Gotta be more to this story.

Based on what I saw there, a floundering non profit with very little support and following from the community. One that Bryson probably wasn’t real excited about in the first place.

Seems that Mike Schy guy is bitter and throwing in the towel prior to their third event. One that had just a handful of players signed up. Somebody should probably break the news to Schy that if his non profit relies on contributions from just one donor, seemingly Bryson, he was doomed.

Shame on Schy for blaming his failed venture on Bryson like that. F him

Sounds like a cheap hit job attempt by somebody with some serious sour grapes who failed at his job. To say that Bryson "hates non-profits" is a pretty strong statement, and a pretty douchey thing to post on social media. Regardless of the facts around it, absolute zero respect for this guy for how he handled it.

I’m shocked. It’s all very odd. I’m not sure if Schy is Bryson’s coach still, but he used to be. Schy was celebrating Bryson’s US Open shortly ago and now he’s attaching him. Not good at all.

To say Bryson hates non profits was odd. But there could be some truth to that. There are many "non Profits" that are straight up money grabs. As a veteran myself, there are a few non profits aimed at veterans that just steal peoples money and do nothing.

I'm not saying this non profit was like that, but if the shoe fits..... I dont blame Bryson for pulling out.

Lets be honest he is doing more for bringing kids into golf with his YouTube content then that non profit ever did with their events that I never heard of.
