Indoor Simulators

As my former boss used to say, “There’s not a whole lot you can’t accomplish with a little imagination and a lot of money.”

As we like to say, anything is possible with enough money.

Residential code usually limits basements to around 10 feet without doing any real engineering, so that could be what was stopping them, but yes, you can go deeper. You can do just a portion of the basement deeper to save and have a step down to the lower portion.

We just designed a house with a simulator in the basement, and a portion of the slab in that room 2 feet lower for one of those smart putting greens. I think the owner is a member of my club, so I have to try to meet him...
I researched last night after I saw what you said. Lots of folks have taken areas down a couple feet and made amazing simulator areas. I never even considered it. I was getting ready to transform my garage... So now I guess it's time to measure and get quotes on creating a space in the basement!
