I much prefer to walk but if I'm at a resort course or a course that sprawls through a development I accept that I need to ride. There is no way I would join a club were I couldn't walk, I'd even pay a trail fee so the pro makes his spiff.
Mandatory Carts - What are your Thoughts?

Our course has one price for greens fees and it includes a riding cart. They don't care if the golfer walks or not, they are getting their price. I've got a yearly pass that includes green fees and cart, and our group always rides. We do take turns walking a bit between shots to get a little exercise, and notice that a lot of other groups do the same. I rarely see anyone playing there without a cart.
