Patty Melt - Yay or nay?
Absolute perfection. Love a good patty melt.... heck love a bad patty melt.

Had an amazing one for lunch. I was too hungry, should have taken a pic.

who says no to a good patty melt. There is a place near me that serves what they call a "Fatty Melt" it's a patty melt, but each side of the bun is a full grilled cheese sandwich.
This is a sandwich that I hated as a kid couldn't stand rye bread or sauerkraut. As an adult my tastes have changed and I really like sauerkraut now and can tolerate rye bread. I actually get a Reuben quite often.

Absolutley. Especially good on dense German sourdough rye.......
Or a marbled rye, or even on pumpernickel.
They're good. I never order them, though for some reason.

I thought a patty melt, by definition, came on rye, which makes it a big no for me. But if we’re allowed to substitute, I’m in…love me some cheese and grilled onions on a good flattop burger.
I don’t eat Whataburger often but when I go there, that’s what I get.
Absolute yay. So good and a nice change of pace
