The course is definitely score-able but the greens are the equalizer. It's an old course and there are a lot of little subtle breaks.

View looking back from the 10th green - just out of shot to the left is the castle but they are obviously working on it as there was scaffolding so the next time I play I will try to get that in the shot

The 9th and 10th holes are both scorecard wreckers as they are all carry to the green. You do not want to miss the 9th green to the left as you could be blocked out by the huge tree but the green slopes from left to right and it is easy to run it through the green

18th, par 4 353yds

This was playing into the wind today and you need to carry around 240-250yds to carry the ravine and land it on the flat of the fairway. I absolutely cracked one right out of the middle of the driver and still didn't quite reach the top of the hill

It is a totally different course in the summer as you can expect a lot more roll out of the fairways, but today there was very little roll due to the rain we had last night and the fact that it was probably only about 10-11*C meant quite a drop in the carry I would expect to see out of my clubs

Haha you're not kidding! Last time I played it I went 5 Wood to PW and ended up with this.

The more I think about the course the more I think driver isn't needed all that much. The key to that course is being in the proper position on the green.

lol....I must be getting old, last time I played it, hit a weak driver and a decent 7 iron, to about 20 feet and made a 2 putt par...lol....and was below the hole!!!!!!
