Putter length

If you move from a heel weighted putter to a face balanced butter and adjust from an arc to a straight stroke do people tend to keep the same putter length or go shorter?

The style of putter head shouldn't change the length of the putter. Having said that most people play putters that are too long for them. I know from my experience being more of a straight back and through putter I like my putter a bit shorter than most. I hope that helps.
