Ohio (Red and White) vs Michigan (Blue and Yellow)
NY/NJ (Blue) vs New England (Red)
DMV (DC, MD, VA) (Black) vs Carolinas (Light Blue)

Since these rivalries are designed to bring the THP community closer together I would suggest a tribute to THP itself. The primary color I think of when I see THP and the THP logo is green. Each team color should be a different shade of green. The rivals would have a contrasting color to differentiate them during the actual matches.
 
I'll take pink over V*U colors.
