Let me start off by saying that I'm no photographer. If it's not blurry, I'm a happy camper. The pictures don't do these clubs justice whatsoever. I'm including pictures from the day I opened the package in February 2016 and just now. I took a picture of the tungsten weight so you can compare the color of that to the color of the metal around it. I've also added some pictures from last February when they were a year old so you can compare.

After seeing those black forged tech from Tadashi in the pga show thread, I decided to black mine out. I'll post some better pictures in more natural light when the sun actually comes out. For now let me make this clear....THIS FINISH IS DYNAMITE. My wedges are about a third the age of these irons and the bottoms are already completely silver. I don't know the science behind this finish but I think they knocked it out the park and should patent the hell out of this so no other company can use it!

First 2 pictures are from 2016, next 3 are from 2017, and last 4 are from today. Again, I'll take some better pictures later on today.

Like I said, these don't do the clubs justice. I'll take better ones later today and I'll even grab a picture of my wedges so you can see how it compares to a PVD finish.

The pics show how durable of a finish that is. Awesome job and thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing, my guess is that the process was pretty expensive in the past and technology and advancements in manufacturing plus hopefully more volume has driven the cost down which is why we are seeing in more clubs. Congrats to Cobra for expanding the line....the feedback from THP'ers has been off the roof. I really like a black club and look forward to seeing the new Forged TEC Black and wedges in person. Pictures seem to never do a great club justice.

Thanks for sharing that, pretty amazing and makes me want the new black forged tec's even more!

When you take more photos, PLEASE include photos of the faces of the irons. I don't really care about the bottoms or backs of the clubs, it's all about what they look like at address. It's part of the reason that I didn't want the Apex Black irons, those faces got beat up pretty fast.

I ahve the same irons, the face did not get any more wear than the soles. you see some wear, like on any forged irons after a while, but no discoloration

That finish still looks fantastic, it's something Cobra could be marketing way more! I had no idea what they called it or how well it held up.

I myself am a little bit disapointed, I loved how the wear looks on my black tour trusty wedge, and was hoping for the same look, but it didn't wear enough. the only significant wear that you can see is the orange paintfill in the bottom groove wore out

I miss my set of those irons more every time someone post pics.

So I took a couple more pictures now that sun has come out. I've added the requested face pictures as well as some of my md3 wedge which has a PVD finish. I got the wedge March of 2016 so just over a year after the irons.

From top to bottom: 4i, 7i, and PW faces together, 4i face, 7i face, PW face, 4i, 7i, PW, 58* Callaway MD3 sole/back (the bottom is so shiny. Can't tell how silver it is from pics), 58* face.

Edit: I really should clean these but I won't be using them anytime soon...
