Looking forward to this one... I love ANY tournament played on that golf course. Another semi-weak field this week but that was expected. I'll be interested to see how Phil comes back from two disapointing performances at the FBR and Buick.

We're headded to Monterey this weekend, so I might drop in there to see a round. Likely it will be either Friday or Saturday. If I do, I'll post a report here. In the past, I've just stationed myself at the 15th green and watched the parade of players pass by. That will be my M.O. if the weather is dry. Otherwise, I'll walk the course, and dodge the rain. Currently, I have no favorites on the men's tour - anyone in paticular I should watch for?

All of them Ricearoni...hehe. That is the best part of not having favorites. You can appreciate their game and their attire just for what it is. Have a blast and take pictures.

jealous! have a blast up there...

It's a shame Camillo is not listed in the event. You have a few sweet options. You could follow JB Holmes and watch him just crush drives, follow Nick Watney and see how he comes off his second win on tour, or watch the heavily overrated Charles Howell III play and probably miss the cut haha

I think I heard that Watney is from Sacramento,CA - if so, he should have a fairly large crowd folowing him. Could be exciting.

hm, news to me...

I am glad that some of the young guns are just stepping their games up more and more lately. It's great for the game. I'd rather see some more young blood come up then watch Kenny Perry win. Nothing against Kenny, he's a great player with serious talent but he's boring to watch.

If they had 2 shows - one covering the pros and one covering the celebrities - I might be more tolerant of the broadcast. But there is so little actual golf shown. It just drives me bonkers. Maybe if the celebrities were interesting or actually funny - but they aren't. And 6 hour rounds makes it impossible to watch the pros.

Geez that was a terrible articulation of my opinion.

Weather looks wet for both Friday and Saturday, and although I am a mudder, it gets too cold and wet at Pebble to be enjoyable. Hmm, we'll be staying near the Del Monte Golf Course - maybe I'll jaunt over there and join in on their sports bar.

Sorry to hear that Ricearoni. But its such a beautiful area that I am sure even wet it will be fun.

if you're not going to be at the actual even why not dump the bar and go play!

I played there in a scramble last September (we were there for a "Wedding on the lawn of the 18th green" at Pebble Beach). The front nine was like any other course yu can play anywhere. But the back nine . . . especially after the 10th hole and you head toward the ocean . . . that sealed it for me. Coolest course I ever played!

Didn't see any deer. But the seagulls flocked to our carts on #11 to see if we had any food in the cart! (And iceplant SUCKS!)

EDIT: Now that I think about it, we did see deer. It was on hole 5 or 6 (the holes that cross over each other).

Right - there are deer that wonder between the cemetary, the lighthouse and the front nine.

I agree with you about the iceplant! Ugh!

Got here about an hour ago. The sky is filled with heavy grey clouds and rain is called for tomorrow, showers Saturday, rain again on Sunday. :(

That's too bad, hopefully the forecast are wrong. That's the way it usually works here in the midwest.

I still dig this vest. I wish it was available in a full sweater and didn't have a JL price tag.

Nice to see Mark Brooks and Mark Calcavecchia high up on the leaderboard.

Rain showers on and off here today, so I escorted spouse to his project, then drove to Pacific Grove for lunch. Beautiful views. This afternoon, I spent some time a a sports bar and caught the ladies on TGC. Very fun. Some AT&T fans came in, so I chatted with them for a while. Single day tickets are $60 - yikes!
Our hotel is located near a parking lot that's housing some huge equipment trucks for Ping, Nike, Adamsgolf, Bridgestone, Ecco, Mizuno and a truck for vendor Nature Valley granola bars. They seem out of place.

We've just arrived home having driven through a blustery rain storm. (There was no indication that the weather was going to improve, so we thought we'd at least beat the crowds.) Again, there will be plenty of chat about scheduling this event to a weather friendlier time of year. Everybody loses on these deals - fans, vendors, charities, etc. Too bad.

It would be really hard to reschedule with the CA swing where it is.

Is anybody watching the broadcast today?

I enjoyed McCord vs. Baker-Finch in the weather. But what I really found interesting was Banker-Finch (maybe it was McCord) describing how the wind was blowing so hard that he was afraid he wouldn't be able to connect with the ball because he couldn't control the club with the wind whipping it around in his swing.

The Golf Channel will televise the rescheduled final round on Monday, starting at 3:30 pm ET.

The final round of the pro-am was canceled, so that means we will be able to watch a, ya' know . . . golf tournament on Monday.
