Adam Scott Says No To Olympics

He and Jason Day might have been the favorites heading in, but Scott has decided he does not want to play and informed his captain of it.

I heard that this morning on GC. I was kind of surprised. I would think playing for your country would be an honor.

Wonder how location played into his decision. Sounds like many athletes are skipping out of this one.

KInd of surprised but to each their own. That is a lot of travel also and considering he goes back to Australia to play events when the PGA Tour winds downs that might be a lot for him.

I am not surprised. I'd think about it as well. As poorly as Brazil has prepared for these Olympics, I'd be hesitant to go stay there as well.

I'm actually surprised we aren't seeing this more. The wrap around schedule is already a grind and while it's an honor to play for one's country, Brazil isn't exactly shaping up to be a great destination.

I think alot of these guys are having a gut reaction. Once they tune into TV coverage and see some of their peers at the opening ceremonies and realize the magnitude of this event they will regret the decision

I already said it in another thread but I don't like this decision. I acknowledge he may have some legit reasons but I still don't like it.
