Mallet or Blade putter?

Mallet all the way- Marilyn Yes putter.
I have tried allot of more expensive putters like the FGP center shafted, and the Odyssey #9 and a few Scotty's but none have felt or lined up as good as the Yes for me.
That is why I now have 3 of them before they are gone.

Sticking to mallet going forward. I like the weight, the heavier the better, and balance. I've tried blades, small mallet / blade hybrids, and felt like there was something missing. Was at the store last week and tried a bunch of different mallet types and I seem to gravitate towards those that are heavier.

I really liked the Ping Sydney but at a price of $249, there were a lot of other putters with similar feel for less.

After looking around and trying a bunch, I went with the Odyssey White Hot XG Marxman, a new 2010 model that was deeply discounted. I tried the latest iteration for comparison and felt like the original is better balanced. They may have improved the insert material for better sound and feel, but I felt the original model was the better fit. Took it out the next day for a round of golf and all my puts, especially lag puts, came within 2ft of the cup. I also sank my first eagle put from 50ft, right to left over a ridge, on a par 5. Was just trying to lag it close, but it stayed online, perfect speed, and ended dead center of the cup.

I have played mallet styled putters for a long time now... 1st was an Odyssey Rossie in 1996 or so. I like the balance and foregiveness they offer. I like the heavier putters, just focus on the line and let the weight do the work. My putter of choice right now is the Odyssey Protype #7. It is a 340g putter and I wouldn't go any lighter.

I was a blade kinda guy most my life and switched to a mid-mallet SeeMore a couple years ago. Now with the TM spider testing I'm about to go back to a blade and looking forward to the test. I prefer the cleaner, non-bulky look of a blade, but worried about my lag putting at this point.

Learned on a blade but upgraded to a Scotty Cameron Kombi S mallet

Scotty Cameron Kombi S here too. 35" cut down to 33". Great feel, not as bulky as some mallets and it has reduced the number of putts per round when I switched.

The blade I've got is a '97 Ray Cook Blue Goose V (champagne finish?). Never seem to replace it.

Ive been using the TM rossa Monza Spider. I'm eying a change to a blade real soon though... So many choices! its exciting.

Scotty Golo in a 34" Best putter I have used to date.

It will be interesting to see how this works out

Just switched from a Seemore FGP to an Odyssey Protype Black #9. So far Im liking the switch

Two years ago I was playing the best golf of my life. I was using a Cameron Fastback. Over the winter I bought into the belly putter craze and gamed a Cameron Kombi Belly. That was a disaster and only lasted 2 months. After I went with a Cameron Studio 1.5. It was the first blade putter I remember using. It hasn't treated me well. Three weeks ago I threw the old Fastback in the bag and I'm putting so much better. I'll never understand why I took it out in the first place. Anyone want a like new Cameron 1.5?

Mallet... TM Ghost Spider S

On my iPhone T.. T.. Tapatalking away!

After spending years hitting 3 or 4 different blades or various costs and qualities, I recently borrowed a mallet from a friend, a TaylorMade Manta, and I really liked it. After that I kind of put "But I like how it looks!" aside in favor of a club that better suits my putting stroke. I putt better with a cheap-o $30 mallet than I did with the Anser I had in Germany.

I'm in the same boat. I putted well for years with a face balanced blade paired with a SBST putting stroke. In the last 18 months or so, I have tried a bunch of toe weighted putters without much luck. Every time I picked up a face balanced putter, I'd do better with it.

I just put a face balanced mallet back in the back. I suspect that things will begin trending back in the right direction.

There's a blade in the bag now but its been back and forth. First out of the set putter was a Taylormade Proformance flanged blade, then a Scotty Caliente mallet, then back to the blade (Scotty got stolen) then an Itsy Bitsy Spider and now back to a Yes! Callie12 white/black.

I guess my next may be a mallet - or the new Spider blade.

Started with old school Ping blades back in the day. My love affair with mallet putters started with the Carbite putter. I havent used a blade since and dont see anything (much less a blade) replacing the Red X I have...it is the best putter I have ever used.

FWIW I think mallets set up better for crosshanded putters like myself.

I use a TaylorMade Rossa Classic Lambeau Blade, I switched to it this week and have been two putting the lights out with it

Tapatalkin it in on my iPhone 4S

A Nike Method blade putter. I used a mallet for a couple seasons, but distance control was pretty tough for me. A blade feels better to me and I actually find it easier to set up with.

Was using an Odyssey X-9 blade putter but switched over about a month ago to the SeeMore Si4 mallet putter. I liked the blade putter, but wasn't comfortable with the insert and was having issues with the ball really jumping off the face. Decided to go back to a mallet but I am sure I will venture into the blade area again.

Love my odyssey two ball! Been using it for years!

Scotty Cameron Blade. I have such an arch in my stroke the face balanced mallet just never worked

I try to use heavy mallet putter on slow greens and blade in fast greens.

I have 2 putters Nike method 001 and Odyssey White hot something.

Both work but Nike is my go to putter.
