I'll say, at the very least this thread has made me think about my low irons and what I need the blades for. I hit them pretty well, but as has been stated many times here and on other threads, when you miss, those misses cost you big. So why take the chance? Thanks again all testers for the feedback!
Thanks for the comments and question ghsace. Personally, I think that is exactly why this set is made up the way it is. The 8-PW blades are fairly easy to hit and misses are not that bad with them, in my experience. Definitely still leaves me in scoring position (most of the time). Would another type of club be more forgiving? Probably. But these blades are very consistent, accurate, workable, predictable, and are down right effective. That is why many of us say the blades are our favorite part of this set. I think the blades have put me in great scoring position and I have hit some of the best shots of my life with them.
That being said, I think Nike nailed it with having the 5-7 split cavities, instead of extending the blades up through the set a bother club or two. As chunky mentioned above, when you get to that 5, 6, or 7 iron distance, it is nice to have that extra forgiveness that the split cavity provides. The split cavities have also been great clubs.
I hope this answers your question. If not, ask away. We love getting questions, honestly.
