I know Shaq bought one, don't remember where I saw it at though.

That's asinine, & should be outlawed. Imagine getting drunk & behind the wheel of that monstrosity? You could kill a few dozen people easily & never be in harms way yourself. Why not just buy an old army tank & bling it out? Maybe a monster truck?

Gators CB Jenkins arrested near bar

Florida Gators starting cornerback Janoris Jenkins was arrested over the weekend and charged with fighting and resisting arrest without violence, police in Gainesville, Fla., confirmed.

Police used a Taser on Jenkins, who punched someone in the head after being told not to.

The incident occurred at closing time near a bar in downtown Gainesville.

Jenkins was named to the Freshman All-SEC team last year and become the second true freshman in school history to start at cornerback on opening day.

So let me get this straight. Police would not have arrested him if he had punched someone in the head, but had not previously been told not to?

its Gainesville Harry. hehe

Im going to catch heck for this one. We are truly a house divided.

Janoris? I'd like to see a study correlating really weird first names to criminal activity.

18-year old arrested in Florida cat mutilations

Excerpt:
MIAMI - A South Florida teenager was arrested early Sunday and accused of killing and mutilating the cats of his neighbors — a disturbing string of deaths that has horrified residents and shaken animal lovers in two Miami-area communities.

Weinman was charged with 19 felony counts of animal cruelty, 19 misdemeanor counts of improperly disposing of an animal body and four felony counts of burglary related to the cat deaths.

"It's shocking to think that someone who lives right here and is our neighbor could do something like this," said Thomas Shad, whose small black cat, Miss Kitty, was among those killed.

"If they do get the wrong guy and it's not him, they've ruined his life as it is right now," said 19-year-old Kyle Hantzis, who lives next door to Weinman. Hantzis said he had a hard time picturing the teen as a serial cat killer. "I don't think, the way he acts and his demeanor, I don't think he could physically do it."

Four of the confirmed cat killings were reported on the street where Weinman lived in a beige-colored house with a bright red door. For the Shads, his arrest brought a sense of relief to their quiet suburban neighborhood that they haven't felt since Miss Kitty's body was found in the grassy yard of an abandoned house.

Serial killer in the making. Hope they keep an eye on him.

Palmetto Bay resident Wayne Edwards transformed his backyard into a playground for his cats. He had 17 of the animals, but he is down to 16 after one was found slain and mutilated in a neighbor's front lawn.
Dude better have a way to KEEP all those cats in his backyard. That would p!ss me off if I was his neighbor. Isn't their a law against owning that many pets?

Our friends at Taylormade sent this over.

A husband and wife team is stealing thousands of dollars in golf clubs and golf supplies in Volusia County and no one's been able to stop them. The thieves have struck at least seven places.

New surveillance video detectives released Thursday reveals how they're able to pull off the thefts in the middle of the day. The jackets and long pants they were wearing in 90-degree heat were key.

It was simple as picking a club, making sure no one was watching, then they simply slip one end down their pants the other end under their jacket and walk out of the store.

The Hooper family was caught on security cameras at the Daytona Beach Golf Club. Nicole was in the back distracting employees by looking at clothes. Husband Philip, and a man believed to be Philip's relative Derek, looked at golf clubs. Video shows Philip slide a $500 driver down his pants.

"They're after the more high-line drivers and putters that run three to five, six hundred dollars. Taylor Made, Scotty Cameron, stuff like that," said Chris Holt, Daytona Beach Golf Club.

Investigators believe the Hoopers are stealing golf clubs and golf balls all over Volusia County. Police said they pawn sporting goods and may be using the money for drugs. They're stealing so much, in some cases police know they're selling it, but don't know where it was stolen from.

"As far as I know, it's just retail thefts right now. I haven't had any reports of personal thefts right now. That may change after you air this," said Scott Frantz, Daytona Beach Police Department.

It was only because of a crime where the Hoopers put MP3 players in their pants at a Target store that police even know who they are. An alert security guard focused an outdoor camera squarely on Nicole's license plate when she left. They even drove around the lot for awhile, helping police easily identify the family. Now they need to find them.

High-dollar clubs have serial numbers on them, so they're hard to re-sell, but easy to pawn. Detectives said the crime spree may extend into Seminole County, as well.

An angry mob of around 60 people attacked several deputies attending a medical call at Manna Christian Mobile Home Park in Bonita Springs Saturday evening. Four people were arrested.

According to a report by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 7:30 p.m. two deputies were dispatched to the mobile park, located on 13660 Bonita Beach Rd., Lot #99, in reference to a medical assistance call.

The deputies met with Lee County EMS paramedics at the scene, who tried to assist an allegedly intoxicated male, who was later identified as Oscar Garcia, 18.

According to the report, Garcia was allegedly kicking and swinging his fists to the medic.

When deputies raced to aid the medic, Garcia became combative with the deputies. The deputies ordered Garcia to stop, but he kicked one of them in the shin several times, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Another male, identified as Jaime Garcia, 41, became involved, allegedly striking a deputy in the shoulder, while Garcia punched the other deputy in the face and chest area.

A crowd of about 40-60 people gathered and increased hostility against the sheriff’s officers. The deputies used their radios to call for backup, according to the report.

As additional deputies arrived to the scene, a systematic push against the crowd was deployed, the report said. Deputies were taking golf clubs and stocks away from people.

A woman identified as Esther Garcia, 41, allegedly grabbed a deputy by the wrist and tried to pull her away from Garcia.

A defensive perimeter was set up and deputies were able to gain compliance from the crowd, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Oscar, Jaime and Esther Garcia were placed under arrest on charges of battery on a law enforcement officer each. A fourth individual, Jose Hilario, 30, was arrested on charge of Obstruction. No serious injuries were reported.

Indian River County man calls police to remove grenade from truck toolbox

Explosive experts at the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office Friday will take apart a pineapple-style grenade removed from the toolbox of a pick-up truck Thursday, officials said.

The owner of the pick-up, who lives in the 4600 block of 43rd Street, called 911 about 5 p.m. He told the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office he had owned the truck for about a month and had previously noticed the grenade in the toolbox.

He was prompted by a friend to call law enforcement about the device Thursday, said Lt. Darrell Mullinax of the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.

A member of the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s bomb squad safely removed the grenade from the toolbox, Mullinax said. Officials said the grenade appeared to be a live weapon, but planned to inspect it Friday, he said.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- Authorities said a bullet from a gun that was accidentally dropped injured a Tampa woman sitting in a bathroom stall. Police said the bullet hit 53-year-old Janifer Bliss in the lower left leg. She was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Bliss was sitting on the toilet in a hotel bathroom when a woman in the next stall accidentally let her handgun slip out of her waist holster. The weapon discharged when it hit the ground.

Police said the gun belonged to a 56-year-old woman who has a concealed weapons permit.

The case has been referred to the State Attorney's Office to determine if any charges will be filed.

Woman jailed for alleged assault after man complains about undercooked potatoes, burnt bread

NAPLES, Fla. (AP) -- A southwest Florida woman was arrested after deputies said she assaulted her 71-year-old common-law husband after he complained about her cooking. A Lee County Sheriff's Office arrest report shows 66-year-old Meredith Hart Mulcahy was charged with battery on an elderly person Tuesday night.

Deputies said the man got into an argument with her about undercooked potatoes and burnt bread. He went to the bedroom and began eating, and authorities said the woman then threw a phone at him.

Deputies said Mulcahy became belligerent in the back seat of the patrol car and told them that she "burned the bread she was cooking because she was so intoxicated." She was in the Lee County Jail on Wednesday pending a $1,500 bond.

At the least, wouldn't this be just cause for revoking the permit?

Why was the old guy eating dinner in the bedroom anyway?

Shark rides train, ends up dead in Miami street - CNN.com

Shark rides train, ends up dead in Miami street

MIAMI, Florida (CNN) -- Something fishy's going on in Miami, and police and Florida wildlife officials said they're trying to get to the bottom of it.

After a short ride on Miami's elevated Metromover train, a dead shark turned up in the middle of the street, in the middle of the city, in the middle of the night, police said.

Police were called about 9 p.m. Tuesday and found the 5-foot-long nurse shark lying on Fifth Avenue in Miami's Overtown section. How the shark got there -- and why -- is the subject of an ongoing investigation.

The mystery began Sunday when a Metromover passenger took a photo of the shark, bleeding and gasping, as it lay on the floor of the train. The passenger sent the photo to CNN affiliate WSVN-TV in Miami-Fort Lauderdale.

The shark turned up dead on the street, covered with flies, on Tuesday.

"I have never seen a shark in the middle of the street in Overtown, but nothing surprises me in Miami," said Jorge Pino of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, which is conducting the investigation.

Police and wildlife officials said two men, whom they described as vagrants, took the shark on the Metromover after failing to sell it at several fish markets.

David Gil, who works at the Casablanca Fish Market, said the men approached him.

"Two guys pulled up on a bicycle; they were both riding and were dragging the shark," Gil told CNN. "They said it was like 16 feet and about 600 pounds, but when I went out to take a look at it, it was tiny. I'd say it was about 5 feet and about 75 pounds."

He added, "They had it on a rope with a stick tied to its tail. They were dragging the shark all over Miami, and they were telling me they were trying to sell it for 10 bucks."

The men were turned away because they did not have a permit to sell the shark, said Martha Longueira, who handles purchasing for the Casablanca market.

"We do get fish peddlers, and people assume that if they go out fishing, and have 20 pounds of fish, they can just sell it ... but we can't accept it," she said.

Witnesses told police the men dragged the shark down the street.

"They were pulling cars over to see if anybody wanted to buy it, then they just left it in the street," Gil said.

Miami police have turned the investigation over to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

Nurse sharks are not protected species, so it is not against the law to possess one, Pino said. Investigators are looking into whether the men were selling the shark without a license or caused willful and wanton waste.

"Because it was discarded, they just chose to drag it into the middle of the street, and it caused havoc for everybody," Pino said

The shark's remains were returned to the ocean, he added

"We returned it back to its natural habitat. If a fish in the wild dies, its consumed by other fish," Pino said. "After we gathered our information, we returned it to the water, off the coast of Miami."

Florida police catch man running down a street with a stolen cash register

GREENACRES, Fla. (AP) -- Authorities caught a Lake Worth man running down the street with a stolen cash register. Greenacres police reported that a 32-year-old man entered a restaurant Thursday afternoon and asked for change for a $10 bill. When the cashier asked to see the bill, the man reportedly began screaming, "I want change!"

Police said the man then grabbed about $40 from a tip box, picked up the cash register containing nearly $300 and ran out.

The officers who arrested the suspect after a short chase had just come from reviewing surveillance footage at a nearby connivence store, where lottery tickets had been stolen a day earlier. By chance, the officers identified the man as the thief from the footage.

The man was being held on $21,000 bail for multiple charges.

Sculpture of naked family turns heads at Florida shopping mall; PTA asks parents to complain

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Parents in Florida are complaining about a sculpture of a nude family outside a shopping center west of Delray Beach.

Parents of children who attend a nearby elementary school say the bronze statue is inappropriate, and the PTA president e-mailed parents Wednesday asking them to complain.

The sculpture is by artist Itzik Asher and titled "Journey to the New." It is supposed to represent the journey of Russian and Ethiopian Jews from their homes to Israel. It was previously displayed at other locations in the area.

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports that Asher's sculptures have drawn criticism before. In 1995, the Boca Raton City Council made him cover the private parts of several of his sculptures with cardboard fig leaves. The leaves were later removed.

Oh, and this is the sculpture:

Cops: Porn star/Senate wannabe Daniels battered hubby over laundry

JULY 29--In a setback to her nascent U.S. Senate campaign, porn star Stormy Daniels (real name: Stephanie Clifford) was arrested Saturday afternoon for domestic violence after she allegedly battered her husband because she was "upset because the way the laundry had been done." Clifford, who has said she is interested in challenging Republican David Vitter next year for his Senate seat from Louisiana, was nabbed for striking her husband "Michael on his head with her hands several times," according to a Tampa Bay Police Department report. Clifford, 30, told cops that she did not intentionally hit her husband, but acknowledged tossing a potted plant in the kitchen sink, throwing the couple's wedding album on the floor, and breaking some candles. The adult film actress, pictured in the below mug shot, was briefly booked into the Hillsborough County jail, where she was later released on $1000 bond. Clifford, who decided to challenge Vitter after the incumbent admitted patronizing a prostitution ring, has formed an exploratory committee in her home state of Louisiana. Its slogan is "Stormy Daniels: Screwing People Honestly."
