Anyone know much about cortisone shots?

Yeah avoid them at all cost. Treat the issue not the symptom. I had a orthopedist that thought they were a cure all, got them on a regular basis in my shoulders and knees.

And are you worse off now because of them? My hand is 100x better now and looks like its not coming back either. Our issues are two different things I know but just curious.

They can be good at helping pain in a joint. Getting a steroid shot is much better on your system than taking oral steroids because of the s/e's. They work to stop the injured area from releasing chemicals that eventually signal pain. They typically last a few months. You have to find someone skilled enough to actually put the needle in the right spot so it will work. If you mask the pain in a joint you could continue to injure it and make it worse.

Would you guys recommend a massage first to see if its just scar tissue? I am kind of 50/50 after hearing that things can get worse then they are now

Yep. A small tear in my left rotator cuff became worse to the point of surgical repair. Not a direct result of the cortisone, but the doc used it is a crutch to get me through season. I've taken a few in my knee over the years and it just masked the pain so you can damage it more. For some injuries it works great, for some though it just prolongs an issue.

Guy, thats awesome! What are you shooting? Gees I feel guilty I havent shot my guns in a very long time.

I'm gonna rock the Px4 in .40, she's dependable. I'm excited they finally got one a little closer to me, I've been having to drive up to WPB to compete in anything more than the local redneck shootout.

You need dependable when you life is on the line. Or in this case you just want to win haha. Good luck dude. I may have to drag my AR down to the range here soon.

Well, the daily Jman retirement plan...er...Jman's wife's residency interviews is up for the day...

So far:
A&M - Scott & White - Temple, TX
Baylor - Dallas, TX
OU-OKC - Oklahoma City, OK
U of Kentucky - Lexington, KY
U of Louisville - Louisville, KY
Mountain Area Health - Asheville, NC

Getting pretty cool.

Jman, we went to MAHEC with Erin was preggers with Foster. It's in a sweet part of town, on Biltmore Ave. That's kind of the lush section of Asheville. That's a big list of places to visit dude. I'm getting nervous for Asheville.

Make sure she checks to see if she can moonlight. A few extra hours a month and you can double your salary.

Haha, well, she applied to 27 to try and get interviews. BUT, she loves NC, her family used to vaycay there when she was a kid so its way up there if we do have to move, plus its a 100% certainty she's going to take that interview since they were first. We've heard alot of good things about the hospital form alot of people.

Flight prices SUCK though lol
