THP @ Winstar Golf Course

Very nice!! Looks like a cool finishing hole.

Jealous of you guys today.

Course looks great....we will definately have to play there again when Cookie, Jman and I can make it!

Big shout to janks (Jacob) for driving up the night before from Houston so he play today. He's driving back tonight. Be careful buddy! Glad you decided on making the trip! Played well!

View attachment 9774Had a great time today guys. What a fantastic day of golf with some fantastic THP'ers. Thanks for such a good day.
I tried to take pictures and post them this morning, but had issues with service out there. Then the battery in my phone died, because I was running to many apps at once. But I did get a few.

Sorry I did take more, but I need to be better prepared next time. And maybe turn off some of my weather apps. Hey, we were playing golf in Oklahoma, tornado alley.

I had my doubts earlier this morning with what we saw as we entered Okl. but the rain stopped right when we teed off and by the 2nd 18 the clouds parted, the sun came out, the wind died down and I think we were the only ones on the golf course.

Had a great time with you guys! We can all agree that this was an awesome course! Shot my best round this year at 87! Thanks for the advice Nate. Now I know that I need to drink a 16oz Budlight on the front and one on the back! We definitely need to play this track again!

Finally made it home. Had an awesome time today and it was definitely worth the drive. And I tied Nate. That is something I will tell my grandkids about.

Glad ya'll had a good time. Sorry I did not make it, we (coworkers and I) left Moore at 3:30am on Thursday, luckily I took Friday off and today I wanted to do nothing but sit on my couch and watch TV.

Had a great time, gents! Looking forward to the next one.

We played well and after 36 holes I ended up 1 stroke up on ya. Like I told you, it was a blast playing with you both rounds. If we could only putt on those greens it could have been really low. Easy had the low rounds of 74-74 on the day. Impressive!!

Everyone knows the last 18 was for experimental purposes (and $5). Again, at least that's how I will remember it in 50 years. We did putt pretty terribly though.

Glad you made it home safely Jank. We will have to try and get a round in next time I am in your area. I would say the experiment was a success. Can't wait to see if everything works out. Cause if it does, that will be one hell of a good time!

A few more things:

We played both rounds for $67 total thanks to Staticline (Doug) giving us a heads up on a coupon for the 1st round. Big thanks for that! We got to play all 27 holes and think just about all of us thought the South course (1st 9) and East course (last 9) were the favorites. Nice big fairways to hit but the greens were a bit choppy as they had just punches and sanded what looked like a few weeks ago. I think most of us struggled on the greens getting a true read and roll but that was expected.

Big thanks to Aaron as well. Thanks for setting this all up. He even brought out some drain patches (Odyssey) and handed out to both groups to pass out if anyone drained putts over 10 feet. Very cool of him to do! A few of us got lucky and earned some.

IF THP decides to come back to Texas next year, this course and facilities really needs to be put into the hat for consideration. Great golf course, very nice practice facilities, casino, restaurants, RV area on site, banquet facilities and a finishing par 3 hole that has a patio overlooking it for great viewing. I think we all agreed we would come back and play this course again real soon.

This course should be in consideration for an event. I think everyone would have a good time playing this course.
The final 9 we played yesterday had punched green and fairways as the guys have said. We were surprised, when we made the turn, and see a big sign that said course closed. The staff was accomadating to lets us get on this course to see what it was like. I think we all liked the East course and some of its challenges.
Really looking forward to getting back up here with the group again.
I have to say that this was the best time I have had on a golf course since the Texas Invitational. Thanks to all of you that made it out.

I completely agree with this. Maybe even more fun since a 4hr round trumps a 6hr round. I loved the format we played as well. It made it important for everyone to keep playing. Definitely leveled the playing field a bit.

Thanks for coming up. I had such a good time teeing it up with you. Hope to do it again later this summer. Maybe something a bit more down you way.

I was happy to come up. Definitely worth the drive. It was great that everyone played pretty solid for the most part, also. I'm always down for a little get together especially if we play some nice layouts. This course definitely exceeded my expectations.

Had a great time as I always do with THPers. Really enjoyed the course too. Excellent condition, challenging and fair, and a great value with the coupons. I think it would be an awesome choice for an event.

I think Easy might have broke 70 if the greens had not been punched. He was striking the ball extremely well.

Let's do it again!

I had a great time as usual playing with fellow THP'rs. Thanks Aaron for putting this together. I love this course as it my third time to play it. This place should be #1 on the list of courses to play an outing event next year if the powers decide to have one in Texas. Yes I know it was in Oklahoma but its only one mile across the border. Everything is here that is required to host an event. Jank, glad you made the trip and made it home safe.

The rough out here:

WOW!
See what happens when you tell 'em Nate is in your group? They prep the course for his arrival!

Glad to hear everyone had a great time and that the coupons were good. That is a great deal for 36 holes. Pics make the course look very green and lush. Too bad about the greens.

Who won all the money?

South course greens were in phenomenal shape as those were punched further back. In another few weeks, all 27 holes should be in even better shape than before. Fairways were great and the rough was tough, but fair. The first cut wasn't too bad, but when you strayed into the whispy stuff, the ball sat down to the bottom. You had to be right on top of it to find your ball. Definitely one of the better courses I've played in a while.

Nate and I cashed in with the big money winning both sides, no big deal. Aaron and Eddie were with us on the first 18 and Andrew was with us on the last 18. It was a close contest for the first match as I think both groups were separated by 3 or 4 points. I really enjoyed that format.

Wish you could have made it up. The course was a lot of fun and the company was amazing.
The greens were not to bad, except the East course, which they informed us prior to going out. We knew what we were getting into when we teed off on that side. We just all wanted to see what it was like. We all had a blast.
