what does ARP mean on golf irons?

I was just checking out some clubs on naileditgolf.com, and noticed many of them say they are stamped ARP on the hosel. They have some great deals but I don't know what that means. I tried searching online and can't find any info. Anyone know?

From the site it says....Condition: NEW in plastic but stamped ARP on the hosel. This means they are overstock or a returned item and not covered under warranty. We however will cover them under warranty. They have no defects or blemishes.

I've got a TM wedge that says that. Bogey is right. These are not covered under warranty. They are perfectly fine clubs though as my wedge is good

So they are pretty much like a brand new set from a golf store? Just no warranty?

I understand the returned item, but how can ab overstock not be covered under warranty? That sounds petty from the company.

Yeah that's the part I don't get as well. If it is just overstock why would the manufacturer not warranty their product.

ARP = Asset return product. Asset return program. Asset recovery product. Asset return provision.... you get the idea!

I have an r9 driver that is ARP. Taylormade cannot guarantee the club wasn't used, abused (stepped on by an elephant, etc, etc) once its left their hands...it essentially becomes a USED club (even if its returned still wrapped in plastic). Therefore they will not warranty it. At least that was how it was explained to me by a TM rep. But many retailers will warranty it for a period after purchase. Mine was warrantied for 180 days by the retailer. I've had the club for over a year and had absolutely NO issues with it.

Was curious about his. I bought 2 ATV wedges for 130 and noticed they both had ARP on them. One still had the plastic on the head and both had the TM stickers on the shaft. They looked fine and I assume will play fine.

A.R.P. means " Asset Recovery Product ". They are authentic TaylorMade items but for some reason (overstock, customer changed mind, ordered wrong etc...........) have been returned back to the factory and are no longer covered by warranty.

You'll also hear them called premium demos. Most look brand new, though occasionally you can notice a bit of wear. In addition to no warranty, they don't come with headcovers, wrenches, etc.
