By definition yes it is.

It certainly is a sport!

No.

I want to hear your reasoning
figured I would be the only one to say no.. lol.

But at its heart and its origin. It’s a pastime not a sport.

Yes. More so when walking than riding IMO.

@jlew

I will say. To me. LIV makes golf closer to a sport than the PGA. Why? Teams.

100% it is a sport. Requires skill, knowledge and at minimum, a modicum of athleticism.

Yes.

Yes, according to the Olympics, NCAA, major media outlets etc. It’s not even up for debate really, as the arguments against aren’t convincing, as the collective sports world has deemed it as such.

So no to tennis too?
Kinda. There is more to it. And I think they both are really sports now. I was just really being contrarian for conversation sake. Otherwise it would end quickly..

But let’s think about it. Are are some rules for an activity to be considered a sport vs a pass time or hobby? I think golf at its origin falls outside of that. Tennis as well. Not any more. But originally..

Tennis does have doubles though.

For sure it is. You don’t necessarily have to be a good athlete to be good at it. For sure a sport though.

Case in point ... Lumpy! IMG_6227.jpeg

Yup….

Yes, by definition. It's definitely one that requires much more skill than athleticism though. It's probably the sport with the highest skill level required IMO.

Yes, no doubr
