An awesome example of great golf......wish he was back to this level......

Anyone else have a favourite round ?

Not a favorite round per se, but Rory's US Open performance last year comes to mind, and Tiger's final round at the 2008 Open and the playoff.

I watched Rory go HAM on Congressional live last year. I was there Thursday when he went -6 for the day. Twas awesome.

Also the final round of the Memorial this year. I loved watching Tigger play well. I haven't watched much golf up until this year.

First and foremost: 2000 PGA Championship final round at Valhalla. I was there all 4 days, got to see Tiger and Bob May battle it out coming down 18 twice, the roars were defeaning.

2 on TV stand out for me....
The entire 2000 US Open: Tiger at Pebble Beach.

2004 final round of the Masters: Phil gets his first major with a birdie barrage on the back nine, breaks Ernie Els' heart in the process.

Rory's Open 63 at the 2010 Open Championship.

The 59 by Duval was fantastic no doubt, but it was at a course where there have been many many rounds of 60, 61 and 62 in tournament play. He was 5 strokes better than the second best on the day, so it's hard to argue.

The best round I can think of is a 69 in the wind, rain and cold (42* with 40 mph gusts in a steady drizzle) by Tom Watson in 1979 at Jack's tournament. His score was one of just two rounds under par in round 2, and two strokes better than the next (71), and 1/3 of the field scored 80 or higher. Even Nicklaus, still in his prime could only manage a 73. The highest round was 92 (Roger Maltbie).

Johnny Miller's 63 in the final round of the "73 US Open could arguably be the finest round ever, considering it was a major.

The Sunday Round of the 1999 US Open at Pinehurst by Payne Stewart.

Rory's whole tournament last year at the US Open. Incredible what he was doing with the ball.
