Hybrids around the greens?

I have used it to basically putt it from the rough when I didn't feel comfortable with my chipping iron (lob wedge) and I have used it to hit a shot into a bank and let the ball die when the hole is tucked in.

personally I use a 4h....shorter and easier to control for moi

Hanks is the KING of hybrid chipping! personally it scares me to death i never do it. but to each his own.

I played a round with a guy that used his driver in place of the hybrid for these shots. He was extremely proficient at it.

Tapping and crashing with the new updated/downgraded Tapatalk.

On another thread someone mentioned that they use their hybrid around the greens. Can someone please explain in what situations you would do this and why?

Thank you.

I often use a 3 hybrid when I'm 2 to 4 feet off the green with a godd distance to the pin. I just use my putter grip and treat it like a putt. The loft allows it to get up slightly and then run out across the green. I like that option myself much better than using a putter, iron or wedge. It all comes down to personal preference. What works for me, may not work for others.

how about getting a chipper?
