....to support the fact that wearing progressive lenses (ie bifocals in camoflage) makes it harder to judge for solid contact? I had a lesson the other day and the pro implied that I should ditch em and just wear corrective lenses for distance only. Was he right?

A golf teaching pro who is not a licensed in eye care (ophthalmologist, optometrist) not qualified to give advice on the care of eyes. :comp:

Please keep these clear until the THP pro does, even though I agree with you prov.

Just a guess on my part, but I think the pro could be right. This is what made him make the remark: He noticed that upon address I would look at the target using the upper portion of the lenses. Then when I looked down at the ball (you're supposed to do that right?) I had to adjust my head (more like my glasses) to STILL see out of the top portion because the bottom portion is used only for reading. So IMHO he may have a valid point.

Pro you are right I am not an eye specialist. 1 thing that I do know from being around this game as long as I have it is more difficult to find the ball or the low point of your swing with bi-focals. Many offices now offer golf specific lenses. I know this because my father had some made for him 2 years ago. He has been wearing bi-focals for as long as I can remember and he would always complain on the course that it always looked like the ball was way below his feet. After he got his "golf glasses" he couldn't beleive the differance. If you play enough and can justify the cost ask your eye care professional for some help on this.

Thanks. That's exactly what I was hoping to hear. I'll "look" into those lenses.
