I got a chuckle out of some of those.

Here's a question. For those that have either a negative thought or initial thought about a company, what would change that?

Great question, perception is reality and once a bad taste is created you can't just hope it will go away. Companies discuss transformational events in theory but true transformation only occurs with honesty and innovation.

I was the biggest Callaway homer on earth from 95 until about 07, must have spent $10K+ year after year on their gear, accessories, etc but the brand slipped, the quality went off the cliff and I took a different approach to how I filled my bag. The dollars are still there and I have no problem spending them but there hasn't been a draw for me. That stated I see some positive signs coming from Callaway but I'm leary and will be sitting on the sidelines for awhile.

Couldn't one say the same thing about a company like SeeMore then? They don't pay for players to use their putters(at least they haven't in the past that could have changed), players use them because they find it works for them.

I agree with JF16 regarding Tour Edge. I love their Exotics line (I'm not a good enough player for the CB line), but no one really knows about them. It seems like every time I've either sold one of their clubs or played with a random person, there's always been an bit of a "lesson" on them. Probably the only people who have run into Tour Edge who aren't equipment junkies are people who have picked up some JMaxs on the cheap (new or used).

I'd say the same thing about SeeMore, Yes!, Scor, etc.. Only equipment junkies really know these brands. It doesn't mean their products are bad, just that they're unknown by the masses.

I think it is a huge, uphill battle for the smaller companies. I don't envy them.

Wilson Staff does NOT have products at Wal-Mart (clubs, that is), everyone sells golf balls there. Wilson clubs are at Wal-Mart and that is a completely different part of their brand.

Slicing for show and chunking for dough, because I spend too much time Tapatalking from my iPad.
