Any Wii users here?

So I gave all this stuff to my wife for her birthday today. (Seriously, she wanted it more than I did!)

Shortly we are going out to get some "real" games and another controller! (Per my wife)

All the stuff I got from Monoprice got here yesterday. They work with the system perfectly.

The grip thing isn't really necessary, except it came with one for the nunchuck also. The controller already comes with a better skin. We are going to go to Blockbuster and rent some to try before we buy.

This Wii is pretty cool. This is my first game console I've had since:

They sure have come a long way!

I'd like to know why demand is far surpassing supply right now? These companies can crank out this stuff by the millions with ease. Yet it seems like the stores only get 1-2 maybe 3 copies of something when it comes in. Having a hell of a time finding the Wii Fit +, even the online stores of Walmart & Target are sold out.

Walk past the game displays & 3/4 of the slots are empty.

Picked up some Star Wars lego game the other day, I don't know what i'm doing with it but my son-in-law is pretty good with it. Also Game Party 2, a bit cheesy but still fun. All the characters in that game appear as if they are out of either a frat party or a porn film in the mid 80's. Very strange graphics.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the characters in the Game Party games are a weird bunch.

We rented Tiger Woods 2008. Also picked up another controller. TW 08 only uses one controller! (From what I found).

We are officially addicted to Wii.

EDIT: May have figured out the controller issue. (But we were able to bowl with both of them earlier, so maybe not).

Becoming more addicted.

Still can't use two controllers in TW08.

Small, pick up the Wii MotionPlus and Tiger 10, I promise you wont set it down for weeks!

I'm pretty sure you can use two controllers for TW09. A friend gave me his when he bought TW10. I haven't played in a while though.

We are hooked now on Bowling Challenge.

EDIT: We discovered the "Challenge" portion of Wii Sports about 10:00 last night. We especially liked the Bowling challenge, the one where you start with ten pins and they keep adding rows on the back until you are trying to knock down 91 pins! We both knocked down all 91 once! High score for me was 590, with four strikes, including the 91. I also had a 500 even game. My wife was over 500 I think three times. We were up until 1:00 this morning.

My whole right arm hurts today. Stupid game! LOL

I connected the Wii to the internet tonight. I even surfed the web a little! We're going to set it up to play Wii with Jacqui's family in England. I also downloaded three or four other channels.

Played the driving range. It's amazing how I was hitting fades and jacqui was hitting draws, just like in real life. She probably averaged 210-220, I was about 240-250. Is this supposed to be similar the way it really is? Once I figuredout the slice, I started getting the distance. I was hitting 200-220 when it was going right.

It said my Wii age was 6 years older. It also said I should weigh 140 pounds. No way is that ever going to happen! I want to get to 160, but seriously!? 1-4-0?

I got mine mainly b/c I could download all of the ols NES and SNES game I loved as a kid. Plus, the new Mario games are fun.

Wasn't aware of this, will have to look into it.

Yep, I saw that too. I take it you've already downloaded them? Can you burn them to DVD and play them that way?

We've been playing TW2010 the past few days. Not bad but we're going to try to find some other golf games (if there are any?). We have (I think) Grand Slam Tennis for a few days now.

To everyone who has Sports Resort and Wii Play, how do you like those? They are like 43 and 46 bucks at Sam's Club.

I like the sports resort, haven't played it much in fact I haven't played much of anything. Think I may have 2 hrs total on the Wii, still haven't turn on the Wii Fit + yet.

And I can't hook mine up online since I have Hughes net & it's not supported by Wii.

It seems that "Wii Play" comes with a controller. Wi Play is about 50 bucks. A controller is like 40 bucks. So I'm taking back our extra controller we bought and buying the game.

I also ended up buying 8 rechargeable batteries and a battery charger and am going to return the charger I got from Monoprice. One of the contacts bent and broke (as it turns out, that is the main complaint), so I can only charge one controller at a time. I've never had any issues with battery chargers so I decided to go that route instead. So with this I'll have two sets of batteries charging while using the others.

Don't bother...I bought Wii Play myself for the extra controller, but I'm not too impressed with the game.

You can also get extra controllers for half price on eBay. They're not made by Nintendo, but I got 2 of them for my sister she can play the new Mario game for 4 players. She was a little skeptical about them as well, but she says they work as good as the Nintendo-made ones. I bought the classic controllers from the same seller; should have them by Monday.

Well I made an offer for the game on ebay. We don't have but the Wii Sports that came with the Wii console, the Wii Fit Plus and Grand Slam Tennis so it would be ok to have something else, especially at a cheap price, for when the niece and nephew come over.

Super Mario Sluggers is a blast and Mario Kart is truly a ton of fun on the Wii too!

Well, they took my offer on the Wii Play with controller. Should be here Friday.

Actually, WiiPlay got here today. Shipped Monday, got here Wednesday. Been having good luck with ebay lately. We'll return the other controller this weekend.

I just pulled my Wii out from my attic. My oldest has been enamored with watching video game (mostly racing) playbacks on YouTube. Actually, he was holding the Roku remote like a controller, and actually though he was controlling the videos. He was devastated when I broke to him that he wasn't doing anything.

So, to make it up to him, I set the Wii up and we tried playing a couple of games. He's not very good ... but he's also four. He seems to do well at FlingSmash, and I have Mario Kart on order. I found Disney Epic Mickey 1 and 2 (for under $3 each) but I tried playing them tonight and there is no way he'll be able to handle those. I am at a loss as to what sorts of games he'll be able to handle right now at his age. At least it points out that getting a Switch would currently be a waste of money.
