Poker is right up there with golf as far as my passions go. Since the poker boom in 2004, I've loved the game. I've recently started playing online poker again and started to remember how much I missed playing on sites like pokerstars and ultimate bet. In Cleveland, we've recently voted in gambling so the HorseShoe casino downtown is a real hot spot and they have some awesome tournaments going on now.

So this brings the question. How many of you are poker players? What's your favorite game?

I definitely play, though not nearly as much as a few years ago - real life obligations don't really leave me enough time for two time consuming hobbies :)

I keep it pretty straight forward - NL and limit Hold'em is it for me. Mostly cash games but I'll play the occassional tourney, too.

I'm a fan and no limit hold em is my favorite, although something like 3/6 limit hold em can also be interesting. I'm also a big fan of Omaha limit. Too may bad experiences with online sites, so I stick to playing in casinos.

Omaha is a great game but man it can get hectic. I prefer Hi/Lo when playing Omaha

Holdem is my fav
Euchre is up there as well.

Played in quite a few holdem tourneys both in person and online, havent really done it in quite a few years though.

i used to play a ton of texas hold'em in the early 2000's. Even won a seat at the Foxwoods WPT once in Nov 2005. Alas, even though I wouldn't classify it as gambling any more than I would investing in the stock market with some knowledge....i have not been to a casino in over 6 years. A mortgage and kids will do that to you. I used to be fearless...now, i don't think i could do it.

edit: I did win a cruise tournament once in 2011, which is the only time i've played for cash since probably 2007.

Any of you guys still play online?

I played online throughout college on stars. Mostly 25/50 cent cash games. Obviously can't play on there anymore so I've sort of given it up. I do have friends who have moved to different countries just to grind out a living online

Online poker in the US isn't necessarily dead. There are a couple options and the site I'm playing on really reminds me a lot of Ultimate Bet. Which is awesome for me because UB was my favorite site

I'm assuming the quality of play has gone up? There use to be so much dead money on stars and full tilt. I guess maybe I should start looking back into it, not sure of the available options here in the states.

The quality of play is up yes but with the wide range of tournaments, there are plenty of tournaments packed with fish. Bovada is where I play and although it's a little bit of a pain to cash out with a card, their checks are consistently sent out and at my house within two weeks. In order to deposit, I used a netspend visa. You can use it for purchases outside of the US. There are fees for loading the card but those are minimal

I was playing 40+ hours a week during the online boom. Started cash games (up to 300/600NL 6 handed), dabbled in sit n gos ($55 max), then really went for MTTs with a few good wins (I think highest score was from a $27.50 with 1200+ players for over $5k). I also won a $10k freeroll event at French Lick. I was a staked player at PTP after having to cash out for divorce expenses. I used to travel to Tunica twice a year and St Louis once plus most of my time spent at Horseshoe Indiana. Nothing beats a live cash game for me!! Actually the old crew is trying to plan a trip again now.

Love poker especially hold'em.

i played pretty much professionally for about 5 years in my late teens early 20s. right in the online boom. worked my way up from low limits to nosebleeds on fulltilt. even played a few rounds on the crazy omaha tables back then lol. did well enough to make a living off and set my self up pretty well for the future as well as blow alot of it lol (but hey got a 2 houses, nice car, boat out of it and enough left over)

still play online from time to time but no way i think i could go back to grinding 16hrs a day ever again.

I like to play texas hold em but don't do it much anymore. Wheres a good place to play low limit online?

I used to play religiously, but since moving 4 years ago haven't played a competitive game in a while.
