Golf Shoe Market Share

My guess:
FJ:35%
Adidas:20%
Nike:15%
Puma:10%
Ecco:5%

I would guess:
Nike 35%
FJ 35%
Adidas 15%
Puma 10%
Ecco 5%

Below is what I believe is the top five companies when it comes to golf shoe market share. Can you guess the correct order and the percentage that each company has?

Adidas
Ecco
FootJoy
Nike
PUMA

I'm going to go with:

Nike
Adidas
FootJoy
Puma
Ecco

But I couldn't begin to guess at the numbers...also, is this based on global market, or domestic? If it's global, then Adidas might be ahead of Nike, and Puma ahead of FootJoy.

Footjoy - 65%
Nike - 15%
Adidas - 10%
Puma - 8%
Ecco - 2%

I think the masses go with Footjoy.

My percentages are probably wildly off but my rankings are based on product placement and inventory I've observed within the stores.

Adidas 34%
Nike 30%
FJ 22%
Puma 8%
Ecco 6%

Fun thread. Here is the correct order.

FootJoy
Nike
adidas Golf
ECCO
PUMA

While I cant give all of the percentages, here is a look at the 1st and 5th
FJ is around 50%
PUMA is around 4%

In the last twelve months, PUMA doubled from 2% to 4%

I'd guess:

FootJoy - 38%
Nike - 32%
Adidas - 15%
PUMA - 10%
Ecco - 5%

Interesting...Except you have Nike in there twice.

thats what I get for using the iPad while in a meeting...heres is an update

FJ- 49%
Nike 32%
Adidas - 13%
Puma - 4%
Ecco - 2%

I could be totally off base here, but I think Adidas takes more of the market share than Foot Joy. Mostly because they flood the market and have more options that are much more cost effective. I think it's even more of the market share if you include the Ashworth line.

With that being said:

Adidas - 35%
Footjoy - 30%
Puma - 10%
Nike - 10%
Ecco - 5%

Is Nike that far behind FootJoy? My gut says no

Blows my mind the kind of hold FJ has on the market. They really haven't factored into any of my purchasing decisions in the last five years.

I'm kind of surprised that ECCO has more share than Puma.

Golf shoe purchases are like golf balls and can be VERY big in green grass.

I'm shocked that Nike is ahead of Adidas. I don't think I know anyone wearing Nike golf shoes. I've heard a few with the TW shoes, but say they don't wear them because they are uncomfortable. I've heard of a few others with the Jordan's, but don't wear them to golf because of how much they spent on them.

Wow that is a crazy amount of the market with fj

It goes to show that when you hear "I never see them in bags" or "My local store is selling like crazy", how much different the perspective can be elsewhere.

Oh I hear that completely. FJ is a household name for gloves and shoes for sure, especially around my course. Just blows my mind.

Footjoy: 55%
Nike: 25%
Adidas: 9%
Ecco: 6%
Puma: 5%

I know FJ is dominating and I know Nike is second, then adidas because of the name probably ecco because the shoes are more mainstream and not as "modern" as puma

FJ is by far what I see most of so this doesn't surprise me at all.

That's extraordinary. I honestly would not have guessed FJ would do so well when companies like Nike and Adidas dominate so many other sports footwear.

I read somewhere that Adidas took a major hit in market share. Hence the reason why I had them last.

Thank of any pro shop you walk into though. FootJoy everywhere.

Biggest surprise to me was that Ecco wasn't last. I see a lot more puma than ecco on course.

I was surprised by that as well, I think over time Puma will over take Ecco.
