Mandy? Please explain?

The character in Animal House who marries John Belushi's character. Let's just say she promises more than she delivers.

Well that's better Claire, first Mandy I think of is Barry Manilow's Mandy!

Thanks for THAT earworm. Watch out--two can play the annoying music game.

Crap! We aren't gonna start talking about rap are we? LMAO

Of course not! But anyone who says Barry Manilow deserves to spend the rest of the day with Sammy Davis Jr.'s "The Candyman" running through his brain. There won't be much left of by cocktail hour.

Air Supply. "All Out of Love"

'nuff said.

"Afternoon Delight." And I'm too lazy to look up whose song it is.

Starland Vocal Band!

And I should be ashamed that I didn't have to look it up, but I'm NOT! Don't ask me why, I don't have a good answer.

While we're totally off topic (my specialty), here's a pop quiz. You HAVE to answer based on what you know now, with no research. I'll dream up an appropriate prize for the first correct answer (maybe a visit from Winston).

1969--Woodstock, psychedelic rock, etc. What was the #1 song of the year?

In the Year 2525 by I don't know who?

Or, Get Back by The Beatles?

Probably neither.

Neither. Next contestant? (Everyone else is probably doing real work. I'm updating a tedious spreadsheet.)

I would say:
I want you back by Michael J and his brothers
or
Whole lotta Love by Led Zeppelin

Well thanks for starting the earworm ClairefromClare!!! I now have All out of Love on an endless loop in my head.

Still looking for a winner... probably most of the folks here weren't even born back then.

I could have sworn WHole Lotta love was #1

probably most of the folks here weren't even born back then.

Excuse me??? :silly: OK, you did say MOST.

Whole Lotta Love might have been Number 1 depending on the Charts you are talking about.

They keep saying Stairway to Heaven was the Number One song of all time when we all KNOW it was Hotel California!

And there's also the bit about song of the year vs. record of the year vs. album of the year.

Song of the year in 1969? "Sugar, Sugar" by the Archies. I love that bit of trivia.

Now I gotta run put dinner on the table before anybody here kills me.

Brad, I am glad that we could oblige. I think too many people were having a hard time, and it was time to do something about it. You can thank Harry and Craig for putting a spark under me to do it. They are the guys behind the guy. THey are the important ones. I want everyone to know that this place is FOR conversation and debate.

Sure does!
Dont know where that quote came from
