any fishermen here?

Sweet fish. Where are you located? Got my new waders in the mail today, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t unreal excited for a great spring on some sweet runs AND some sweet courses!
Salt Lake City area.

I’ve heard nothing but good things about the fishing you guys have over there. I’ve yet to make it west over there in your neck of the woods. Just have stayed home in WY and MT. Looking forward to following your fishing experiences and picking your brain a bit at times if you don’t mind! Tight lines!

Ohhhhh baby, just bought a gas powered auger. Bring on the 30" of ice!!
What did you get?
An ancient Tecumseh Eskimo model 8900 for a steal!
Nice.

I've got an old Jiffy. It still runs but it's always been heavy and rough to start.

The electrics look pretty cool but the price is steep and I wonder about battery life.

My $180 bargain off facebook market place is in the midst of dying. It has a fueling issue now and floods under full throttle, after having the starter cord paw tear off a few weeks back on the ice (JB weld fixed that). Hopefully we can get one more trip out of it, and then maybe over the next 9 months save up enough and buy a cordless hammer drill for even faster drilling!

Booked 3 days in July in Sebastian Inlet State Park the Snook Capitol of the world.
Been very busy at work haven't had time to fish let alone for Snook my favorite species. Very excited

I'm big into bass fishing. When I hurt my arm and shoulder a couple of years ago, I was bass fishing a ton and not playing golf. However, hundreds if not thousands of times casting per day cause the yips in my putting and chipping. It took a long time to get rid of. It is probably because I wasn't playing golf much at all, but now I'm little worried if I start bass fishing again, my yips may surface again.

I could be on the cusp of retirement in the next few months so I have been contemplating a new hobby/side hustle, and that is custom lure painting.
I bought an air brush, compressor and other items to start with and see if I can even do it. I have never done anything like this before but I have been watching a ton of YouTube videos and it looked like fun. If I can get good enough at it, I could start selling some on ebay, etsy, etc...
At any rate, last weekend I took an old jerk bait I had that was a plain white with a sparkle clear coat and painted it to be a yellow perch since they are prevalent in my area and the bass and pike love to eat them. This my first try at this new hobby. I can't wait to toss it in Coeur d'Alene lake and try to get a pike on the line. (note, those black dots on the lure were put there on purpose as they occur naturally on the fish)

I fish solely for muskies. Its basically fills in for when i cant chase big mature trophy whitetails, its very much like hunting (see avatar)

I don't do alot of fishing in the lakes around here. We do some, but most of our fishing is in the Roanoke river during the annual striper spawning run and down in the Pamlico Sound/Neuse River area for Old Drum, puppy drum, speckled trout, and flounder.

Some nice looking fish there! I do most, if not all, in the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay, and a bit offshore. I've got a 24' Grady White out pursuing Rockfish, Taug, Bluefish, Spanish & King Mackerel, Drum (black & red), etc. If it's not so swirly out, I'll occasionally take a ride out to the wrecks. But it can get really bad out, really quick while on the water ... out of nowhere it seems & 24 footer may sound like a lot but waves can come over the gun whales really quickly.

I was on a work trip to Miami a few years ago, and decided spur of the moment that my goal for the week, besides work, was to catch a peacock bass. We don't have them in Colorado and thought it would be a fun challenge and a good way to stay out of the hotel room. So I went to Bass Pro and bought a rod/reel and a bunch of lures. There's plenty of canals around the area, so I found one close to the hotel and started fishing. Nada. That night, I did some reading and decided to try live bait. I went out the next day and caught this one:

Did some more fishing the next day and caught this:

I've got no idea what type of fish it is! No one at Bass Pro knew, no one at the tackle shop knew, none of the other fishermen in the area knew either. It was caught in the rocks at the bottom of the picture off to the left a little on a minnow. Any ideas?

This is more typical of what I fish for in Colorado:

I thought it might be a Bowfin at first, but I think the dorsal fin doesn't extend back far enough.
The mystery fish looks more like a saltwater fish than freshwater.

I painted these two this weekend. Had to do a second Sexy Shad pattern since the first one sold before the epoxy had a chance to cure. :D

@3puttsbad that 2nd fish looks like a snakehead almost. At first I thought it was a walking catfish but it doesn't have the whiskers.

Snakeheads have taken over the waters down in SFLA

I left my home Saturday morning about 5:30 a.m. in the last 48 hours, I have seen pronghorn antelope, deer, a river otter and some beautiful water. The Green River below Flaming Gorge dam is a world class fishery. There has been an amazing caddis hatch this weekend. I hooked into quite a few browns and rainbows. I didn’t take many fish photos, because I have been by myself and I don’t want to stress the fish, just to get another photo of a fish.

I am still coming back from a leg injury, so I have hit my limit for physical exertion, but it has been fun.

Maybe your golfing has caused yips in your casting arm? ;)

Have had a great couple of weeks fishing for Muskies.
Taking my brother and his great grandson.
We have been setting the hooks and then handing the pole to him
