They say that golf is a good walk spoiled. We are pretty fortunate here in Utah to have so much of the outdoors, so readily available. I can leave my home and a trailhead is a 5 minute walk away. I went on a hike today at a place called Antelope Island. It’s a 25 minute drive. You can see free ranging American bison, deer, and even bighorn sheep once in a while. The scenery doesn’t suck, either.

Awesome hike! I do some. I’m fortunate to have some great areas right out my door in Phoenix. Then back pack all over AZ.

Awesome hike, and great scenery!

After looking at all the Sand Hollow pictures for the Morgan Cup, and now these, I have a strong desire to visit Utah. Thanks for sharing!

Fantastic scenery, well done. I miss the long range views and big terrain out west. New England is pretty but smaller in scale.

I did a 12 mile hike yesterday, 6 miles in and out to a high alpine lake. The drive is literally an hour from my house to arrive at such scenic wonder.

Thanks for the photos. I haven’t been doing much outdoors activities other than golf during the pandemic. Nice to see you take advantage of things that are in your backyard so to speak.

I usually take a couple of days during the summer and go hiking in the Adirondack Mountains here in upstate NY.

We're gearing up for a climb of Longs Peak nearby and this is one of our practice hikes up Flattop Mt. and Hallet Peak, the latter 12,700 feet a.s.l.IMG_2438.jpeg

If we had those views, I think I would hike a bit more. Nice pics

I probably should have shared these from a few days spent down in Capitol Reef National Park back in June. On our hikes we saw giant petroglyphs, a bighorn ram, amazing arches and other eye catching scenery.

Good stuff. Great pics. I hike a fair amount. Pieces of the App Trail are a couple hours away. Visit fam in PA and there is a waterfall trail Ricketts Glen which I do often. For me much like what you are depicting......I need visual stimulation with my hiking. Otherwise it just becomes a death march. Utah is gorgeous. Was out there a couple years ago and did a few hikes. We were in mesquite and made our way north a bit and covered a few of the trails at Zion. Thanks sharing.

Once again, thanks for the photos. Utah is so scenic. I happy that you take advantage of our National Parks.

I do a lot of desert hiking in the cooler months.

When I was much younger, my get away, relaxation time was weekend over night hikes.

I have walked just about everything in Southern Utah, Arizona, California, Oregon, and Washington State. A few other areas in Wyoming also got some of my foot traffic.

These days, I just get out and walk across the desert with a map, cell phone, two way radio, and gps. My back pack is minimal with just the basics. i usually hike with a family member, or friend(s).

Even make my own walking staffs. (not sticks) I have to keep making them because I usually give them away to others who are some what jealous. :).

Does carrying my golf bag count as hiking?

My wife and I have had a couple of false starts at doing some hiking. We have hiked a few hills here in MA and went to Arizona a few years ago and hiked 4 or 5 times and loved it. NH has a ton of great hiking but we haven't really done much of it yet.

Wow. See, I know we have all this awesome stuff in our state. Just have to go and explore it all! Thank you!
I like golf and the walking with my pushcart with my food. As a diabetic, I went to camp for diabetic kids and canoed and hiked and sailed the Apostles and all that. But its kinda scary to go out into the middle of nowhere and hope nothing bad happens medically speaking. I'd prepare with supplies as always, but I think its something I'll have to find a hiking friend to feel comfortable. I stick pretty close to home for my walking for now, but we have nice areas.

Beautiful scenery! We did some nice hikes in Scottsdale and in Los Cabos. For me, I can't seem to get past foot pain.

My wife and I want to do the Camino in Spain/Portugal one day as a bucket list item. Our friends have a hostel on the Appalachian Trail but that's way too ambitious for me!

I would definitely like to hike more and develop more of a pain-free enjoyment of it... I love the views but always look forward to getting done after the first step :/

I love getting out for a hike. Unfortunately for me our side of the state sucks for good scenery for the most part. We did hit up a nice area yesterday morning though.

I used to hike a lot more prior to the kids. My daughter is at the age where we'll hike through the woods at our house but I need to take her to one of the nice spots soon.

I live outside of Boston, so nothing like you have out in Utah. There is a state park near me, and I do a lot of hiking there. If I want to do some "real" hiking, I would have to drive up to the White Mountains in NH...makes for a very long day trip.

I used to live outside of Seattle and did a lot of hiking in the Cascades.

We do a lot of hikes in San Diego, mostly coastal cliffs or desert hikes to a waterfall. We used to do one once a month but it is turning into a weekly thing during Covid. Absolutely love getting out and hiking.

this trail was particularly easy to navigate and not far from the parking lot listed on Google Maps (not far off MN 61), plus I had cell service most of the time if you are worried about emergency access and speed. Will post some more later
