Beer League Hockey

Man do I miss playing.

But being told I could no longer skate is what got me to start playing golf, so…
 
I'm probably going to start again this summer.

If I die, I die.
 
I retired from beer league when the rink closed for covid the first go round. All my friends are back playing but I’m still sticking to my retirement.

I miss the guys and the game but I really don’t miss being sore for days after playing or those 10pm Tuesday games.
 
Reviving this thread again to share a story/humblebrag that happened to me last week. I was sitting on the bench about midway through the game when the ref paused right in front of us during play. He leaned over and asked "Is number 83 your son or your brother?" I told him it was my 19 year old son, but thanks for asking, and I took it as a compliment. He followed up with "Just thought I'd ask. I guess you move kind of ok for an older guy." I didn't know how to respond to that.

So, I didn’t end up doing this.
after the GD I’m all in. It will give me some time to get into a little better shape and acquire some new gloves and a couple of sticks.
the rest of my equipment is ancient
