Where did you come up with that number? The average 9 inning MLB game takes 3 hours and 12 minutes. Now, if it goes extra innings all bets are off.
 
I almost never leave early, but I have on rare occasions when it is a huge blowout and the weather is horrible.

I just looked up some stats. Average Red Sox game took 3:23 last year and active time is 18 minutes. There is over 3 hours of just sitting there. Way too dull.
