Fort Myers area courses

I’m always comparing the value and conditions here in FL to the courses I play in Minnesota for less money. Even the higher end courses down here such as Old Corkscrew don’t have greens or fairways in nearly as good of condition as what I play during the summers in MN. Twice the price for less interesting courses with worse turf conditions, slower greens, and slower play makes it harder for me to want to play much golfer from November through mid AprI.
I wouldn’t exactly call Old Cork Screw high end, it’s a public tourist course.

I meant to say public when referencing high end courses. Of the 100+ courses in the Naples area, only about 20 are public and the best public courses the area certainly include Tiburon, Old Corkscrew, Panther Run, and maybe Lely, All of these are expensive and offer poor value during the peak November through March season. Places like Phoenix have also seen inflation with greens fees but have dozen’s of great public courses to choose from. Certainly many more higher end public golf course options and much better value than SW Florida.
