Golfer drowns when trying to retrieve ball from pond.

That’s terrible to hear, really feel for his family

That is sad. Life is short!

Sad to hear. So preventable.

Where was the playing partner?

Incredibly sad. You hate to hear stories like this.

It says he teed off with a friend, but no mention of the friend calling 911 or anything like that. I guess he fell into the pond and his playing partner just kept on going.

Had an eagle putt.

Worry about all else later?

Still tragic and I’m not making light of that.

My gosh what a sad story.

I wonder how many golf balls the avg golfer uses per year. I can only think I am about avg in this respect, I guess, and probably play 30 rounds per year. If I use 4 doz golf balls a year I think that's about avg for me. At $40/doz for what I play that's only $160/yr. It's like buying a new wedge or something. It's just not worth it to me to search too long or in adverse conditions. Golf balls are probably one of the less expensive items in a golf year.
