Major Champion nearest your birthday

Today is my little cousins 18th birthday and whilst thinking about what to get him I wondered who was the major champion nearest to his birthday.

Then I was wondering who was mine?!

Then I realised this could make a fun thread, who won the major closest to when you were born?

I was born in February 1986, the nearest major to that date was the masters when Jack Nicklaus won his last major with an incredible sunday run on the last 9 of 30!

Lionel Hebert won the PGA nearest to my bd, Who the hell is he?
 
Jack Nicklaus for me too. Not sure of the major number but it definitely wasn’t 18.

Gary Player. In the year I was born, 3 golfers won the 4 majors. Masters - Arnold Palmer, US Open -Jack Nicklaus, Open Championship - Arnold Palmer and PGA - Gary Player. Not a bad list of champions. In that year, the Open Championship and PGA were played a week apart. The PGA ended up being closest to my birthday.
 
Jack Nicklaus won the PGA Championship in Aug 1975. Realized I’m old now.
 
I was born in 71, but the 72 Masters was closer to my birthdate than the 71 British Open. So, it was Nicklaus with the Masters win in 72.
 
Seve at the 83 Masters. The timeframe between the 82 PGA Championship and this one between my birthday is a mere few days.
 
David Graham won the 1979 PGA Championship, my birthday was on that Saturday, August 4th.
 
I’m split between Bernhard Langer’s Master win and Andy Norths Open win
 
1971 Masters and only major won by Charles Cody. Two strokes up on Jack.
 
Billy Casper won the 1970 Masters.
 
Ian Woosnam 1991 Masters Champ.

Tom Watson won the Masters a month before I was born.

I was born in October 1964. Bobby Nichols won the PGA on July 19 at Columbus Country Club.

Gay Brewer won the 1967 Masters 6 weeks after I was born.
 
Doug Ford won the 1955 PGA in the week I was born.
 
I was born July 23, 1980.... So the 1980 Open Championship was July 17-20 @ Muirfield. My winner is Tom Watson :rolleyes:
 
Art Wall Jr won the 1959 Masters.
