Medalist Grips

Anybody tried the Medalist grips at Golfsmith? I had a Medalist grip put on my putter and I really like it. I liked the price even more, I think it costs something like $4 (and Im a member of their Clubvantage program, so the grip was half off and installation was free).
I see their other grips are pretty cheap too, quite a bit cheaper than anything Golf Pride or Winn and am thinking about giving them a whirl and was wondering if anyone else has tried them and what they thought.

I have a set here. My friend likes them a lot until he switched to the new Lamkins. They were not for me really, but the price is solid.

I can honestly say I'm uneducated here, I've never seen them in anyone's bags or tried them out.

I've seen them at my local GS. They were $1.99 there.

I have a full set (3-LW) on a set of irons. Do have to keep them clean or they start feeling like old, hard grips. When cleaned, they are equal to other velvet style grips.
For the cost, you can replace several times for what GP Velvets would run, but they work well so far.
