Grand National Links, not quite sure why it is called "Links" though!

Awesome pictures! I can't wait to get over to Opelika and play the lakes course one day.

Just played the senator course at Capitol Hill Monday which is much closer to a true links course. No trees, water on one hole, pot bunkers, and blind tee shots on all but one or two holes.

This is not my photo but it is my home course. It shows a great view off the 1st tee at Serrano CC looking west towards the coastal range where Napa Valley lies 80 miles away. The wide angle lens distorts the view of the hole, it's a downhill par 4 that plays for men from 348 to 406 yards. Those bunkers in the middle of the fairway start at only 235 yards out from the 380 yard tee box and stretch all the way to the green. That little mountain range on the right horizon is little indeed. It's the Sutter Buttes which is considered the smallest mountain range on the planet.

Greens were pretty slick with the LPGA tournament starting next week. Should be a great time.

Ewa Beach Golf Club this morning. Great course, room to miss off the tee but if you do the trees will make your approach much tougher. Greens are sooo smooth, but pretty difficult to hit and hold. Lot of subtle breaks in the greens.

on hole 1 pic that's an ancient Hawaiian acheological site. There a few on the course. Big time off limits. I saw guy use his water ball retriever to get his ball out and the Marshall was on him quick. Just love this course. Pristine conditions.

Here's one of the par 5s from this weekend. 550 yards, bunkers start at 245 need about 265-270 to carry them off the drive. And its tight all the way in.

See what happens when they are pointing in the wrong direction... I hit it in the trees cause I was aimed there. LOL

We will play the other side next time.

Played 9 today. Check out this sucker pin on the 4th hole. 178 to the flag, 4 paces from the fringe on 3 sides, quartered head wind coming from the right, bunker short and hazard back and to the right. I chickened out and played to the middle.
