After reading the worst movies ever thread, a few bad horror films came to mind. But what about the scariest, most gruesome, twisted films you have ever seen? I love the horror genre and want to see what you guys liked. Here are a few of mine:

The original Nightmare on Elm Street. To this day, for no obvious reason, Freddy Kreuger creeps me out.

The Shinning. The only movie that I can remember being scared after it was over.

And an underrated creepy movie that gave me the chills was Carnival of Souls. Classic
