I just read that Toys R Us is closing it’s 800 stores. There might be hope that they can keep 200 open if there is a buyer. I’m not surprised with the ability to buy online but this place brings up great memories from my childhood. How cool was it as a kid to walk through there? My kids are 15 and 11 and I haven’t been in one in years but it’s still a bummer. I remember when we found out our first child would be a girl I was over the moon and thought it would be a new world for me in buying dolls and girly stuff for her since I didn’t have a sister growing up. For 3 years I walked through this place and always eyeballed the sports section and super hero toys hoping to walk down these aisles if we were lucky enough to have a son and sure enough we had a boy and I had the best of both worlds with all the cool toys. Oh well, another institution bites the dust.
