Any good training aid recommendations for combating an early release in the downswing? Quite a few things out there, but mostly mixed reviews (often that they may work but are expensive for what you get). Any actual worth bothering with?

The only one I know for early release is the Tour Striker Smart Ball. But it is more suited to elite golfers than it is to the average golfer who employs the shoulders, arms and wrists to power the swing.
There is a thread on it (Aug 2020) with lots of feedback.

I feel like the orange whip gives you a pretty good idea of impact position, at least when you try to get it swinging as fast as possible.

Put an alignment rod down the hole of the grip , and work on little pitch/chip shots.

If you get handsy…. well, you’ll learn real fast.

It’s the cruelest of them all.
