What did you shoot today?

Driver was a train wreck today. Shot a 38-39-77 with 3 birdies, 2 doubles, and 4 bogies. Doubles were due to OB tee shots.

39/42=81 today on the home course. My driver has been fading more than I like lately so I hit about 6 balls at the range with a slightly stronger grip before I teed off. Problem solved, I hit every fairway but one with the driver. 26 putts, my chipping and approach shots were pretty good.

Shot a 41/41/82 yesterday And woke up with a twinge in my back this morning.
And swing was off for most of the round. Ended sooting a 45/44/89

Tee time was 42 degrees and damp. Finished at 65 degrees and dry. 2 different nines. Went 40/40 today with the culprit for some higher scores on a few really long pushes off the tee that put me into trouble. Overall satisfied with the round.

Yesterday was a 9 hole mixed pairs competition and I had 3 birdies and 4 pars that counted towards our score and we finished second by 1 point

Got out again today for 18 and shot 76 which started with a chip in eagle on the 1st

Got out for probably the last round before the kid comes, a little chilly and windy but some pretty good holes .. managed a +18 90 from the 6500 tips with a birdie on 18

Grint Tour tournament in Virginia today. Placed 2nd in my flight with a 46-39=85 (very solid for me). Had an eagle putt for the first time in living memory (missed it, but the birdie won me an $80 skin, which was nice).

39/46=85 today on the home course. Putting was better with 27 total. Adjusted the loft up a degree on the driver and it felt better, hit my longest drive ever on the 6th hole, a par 5. Overall a good round.

41/48 for first official round of 2024 Colorado season.

Started so well, par, par, par with 2 of first 3 being top half of the hardest stroke holes. Wheels fell off hole 6 & thought I got back on 7.

Then I lost it, nothing huge, just little misses that added up to bogey/double bogey trains I couldn't break on the back 9.

I had an interesting but frustrating day today. I'm just back from a trip to SoCal, and shot 84 on a difficult course with some strong wind. I was playing with a +2 handicap and he shot 78. Granted he was playing from one tee farther back, but I still felt good about the fact I was only 6 shots behind him and he was quite complimentary of my game (and I believe even sincerely). So I went into today's round with a lot of confidence.

I started off on fire, going even par through the first 6 holes. But I finished with an 89. What was weird was my pattern. Generally my scoring troubles are from too many bogies with an occasional double thrown in but not enough pars. Today I had bunches of pars, but when I didn't I had doubles. I didn't feel like I was striking the ball poorly, but the offline shots just got me in too much trouble. Looking back on it I think I lost my process once the bad holes started coming. I had gone into the day committed to evaluating every lie, every target, and being very thoughtful about my club selection. Once a couple doubles hit my scorecard, I think I just started getting up and hitting, without putting nearly as much thought into what I was doing and why. Hopefully a lesson to be learned.

36/38 today. One birdie. But still lost $14 in my group.

84 with no birdies and an abysmal stretch on holes 10 and 11, both quads. Somehow pulled it together afterwards and kept it below an 85. If I can break down and shoot under an 85 then I am in a good place!

Hit zero greens today. Terrible, terrible approach day. New swing thoughts from lesson Thursday in my head and topped a lot of approach shots. -3.97 to a 15 hdcp Approach.

Only -1.21 short game to a 15, which is the best it has been in forever.

+1.06 Driving, +2.01 putting. Just could not hit an approach to save my life.

Saturday I Struggled on the front nine putting. Came around on the back nine, ended with a 44/38/82

Today I shot a PB 38/35/73 Struggled again the first 6 holes. My putting and chipping saved me there.

Ever have that one holee that seems to turn your game around. The eighth was the one for me. A good drive, and second shot. Chipped to six feet and drained the birdie putt. Ninth hole drained a 20 foot putt for birdie.

Then the highlight of the round occurred. Hit beautiful draw on a dogleg left. Cleared the uphill rise of 240 yards and the ball ran all the way unto the green 6 feet from the hole.😁 Once you clear the rise, the fairway slopes severely right to left, so it takes a little luck for the ball to end up on the green. Was able to sink the putt for my first Eagle of the year. 195 yards total on my grint app. But I forgot to save it.☹️

Driver was much much better today. Shot a 38-36-74 with 2 birdies and 4 bogies.

53 on the front nine at Saratoga Spa Golf which is a normal score for me. Kicking myself because I would have had a real shot at breaking 50 if it wasn’t for my one single blow up hole.

Played yesterday. Shot 39/41 in wet, cold with some wind. No roll out at all. Had 2 birdies. One was a chip in on a par 5.
