What is the greatest year of golf ever by a golfer?

Bobby played the best amateurs & professional golfers alive and beat them all.
Same can be said for the US and British Opens now as they both include the best amateur players.

Byron Nelson, 1945. 11 consecutive and 18 total wins.

Sorry to go against the grain but Bobby Jones. 1st time a “slam” of any sort had every been contemplated. They had to invent a word for it.
Hogan’s is right up there what with nearly dying and all, Tiger too because they were all professional tournaments then but Bobby played the best amateurs & professional golfers alive and beat them all.
I don't think think there's a clear winner - a great case can be made for each. I do believe the one thing that Tiger, Jones & Hogan had in common was their ability to focus & their mental toughness compared to everyone else. They just found a way to win and it must have been deflating to opponents - like watching a storm roll in: nothing you can do and you see it coming.
