What is where you live known for?

Wow. Yeah, it's a small town. I drive by that shop every day and have a neighbor who still works there.
He lives in Cadillac and after he retired from paulstra/Hutchinson he worked at mesick because the guy who runs it wanted him. Ask your neighbor if he knows Jack that used to be the electrician/maintenance guy.

Where bouts in Florida
Crystal River NWR (Three Sisters Springs) on the gulf side, north of Tampa. They winter here mid-November thru late March then head to the gulf for the summer. Kind of pisses me off that the tourists are allowed to swim with the manatees. Just leave the manatees and their calves alone. If you want a thrill jag, go swim with the gators. BTW, there are other places in Florida where manatees winter. Just google it.

I grew up in Ocala, fished those waters for years. Yes even with the laws for manatees, tourist businesses just seem to let it happen.

I currently Live in Georgetown Tx, home of the red poppy and the oldest university in Texas, Southwestern University.
Now my previous home of many decades, the San Fernando Valley in Ca, is home to the Porn Capital, and to "Valley Girls". By the way, when you here "I live in the Valley", it is this place. :p

Athletics/athletes.

St. Paul is the only city on the planet that has 3 players who were born here inducted into the baseball hall of fame (Molitor, Winfield and Morris), and we might even add a fourth in the near future (Mauer). But strangely the city in my view is more known for it's hockey history. My neighborhood was represented on every Team USA hockey team from 1960 to 1980, and my neighborhood produced Herb Brooks and was even represented on the first ever women's hockey Gold Medal (Blahoski). I believe my neighborhood specifically has produced more D1 and professional hockey players than any other in all of America.

Other than that, across the river they produced Prince. Minneapolis milled more wheat than any other city on the planet a century ago. Minnesota in general produced the majority of the steel that won the Second World War.

Houston is known for Oil & Gas, good food, and high humidity. Cabo, where we're moving to next month, is known for partying more than anything I suppose - but we're moving there for a lot of other really good reasons.
