Where to go?

Girlfriend and I have been wanting to take a vacation together. We have been together just over 3 years and have never really traveled for a trip just the two of us. We know we want to go somewhere warm. I would like to get in few rounds of golf and I am sure she would be happy to enjoy some shopping and spas during that time.

I was thinking Palm Springs, Orlando, or Scottsdale. We have never been to any of them(except Disney). Would love to hear everyone’s thoughts on those locations or any other good ones I may have over looked.

Don't know what your budget is but.......maui. I would avoid Palm Springs during the winter(snow birds) and golf is not cheap then. Late spring would be the best time to visit Palm Springs. My knowledge of the other to locals is limited.
 
Haven’t set the budget yet but planning on a lot and sure more then we need. This will really be our first real vacation together so we want to go all out!

if you want to go all out, i wouldn't put orlando very high on that list. arizona seems like the best bet.
 
Orlando was actually at the bottom of the list. That is the only real trip we have taken with my entire family but all we did was Disney.

I think AZ could be a lot of fun. Its on my list for the upcoming year or two.
 
When are you looking to travel?

FL has great spots for vacation, but unless you are going to visit theme parks, Orlando would not be the city most would choose.

Absolutely. That whole area of Scottsdale, Phoenix and Tempe is great. Tons of courses, you'll have great weather too.
 
Curious if you are a baseball fan too because not a lot beats Spring Training mixed with some golf. Nightlife is great too.
 
Not a huge fan but would be fun. That might have just closed the deal though since the girlfriend is a huge Cubs fan.

Yah, you have to go to the cubs facility in Mesa and watch a game or.... just checked their schedule for late Feb .... they are playing the Giants in Scottsdale which is a great stadium/atmosphere. You'll have a blast of trip!
 
I'd say AZ as well, but I am definitely biased, as I have a brother who lives in Scottsdale, and love visiting when I can. There is plenty of golf, obviously. Spend a couple of days up in Sedona. Lots of good eats and neat shops in Old Towne Scottsdale. If you're into Casinos - very close to Talking Stick. Many more things to do as well.
 
Hadn’t thought about a casino but that would be fun. Was looking up stuff to do and would love to go horseback and atv riding. She would probably love a hot air balloon trip too

Golf, Cubs, Casino, Horseback, ATV, hot air balloon... You might as well get that diamond and seal the deal! :glasses-cool:
